Thailand: The Lanna Dog Rescue Project lives a Buddhist principle

March 4, 2006 : 12:00 AM
In Chiang Mai, Thailand's second largest city, there may be between 60,000 to 100,000 stray dogs and cats. The Lanna Dog Rescue Project cares for them, taking the sick ones to vets, having them spayed and neutered, and sometimes returning them to temples where they are welcome to live and be fed.

All this is in line with the Buddhist principle, "metta" which means that one is to "love every single living thing".
