Maui's Annual Great Whale Count Nets Record Number

Researchers believe North Pacific whale population growing

MA'ALAEA, HI--The numbers are in. The Great Whale Count, an annual event organized by the Pacific Whale Foundation, recorded 1,726 humpback whale sightings to break the 2006 record of 1,265.
