Henderson County Humane Society CLOSED
The Lexington, Tennessee based humane society is closing it’s doors and needs help finding placement for the remaining animals.
After much thought, prayer, and soul searching, David and Debbie Foster, Founders, and the organization’s Board of Directors have voted to dissolve the Henderson County Humane Society.
The problem is there just aren’t enough volunteers to maintain the organization and all the physical requirements of taking care of the high volume of dogs and cats in need in Henderson County. David and Debbie housed most of the society’s animals on their property and although always short-handed, between them they felt they were able to care for the animals. Until now... Debbie Foster says “David has hurt his back and after four previous back surgeries... this last injury on his back has just about gotten the best of him. He has another ruptured vertebra in his neck and it is causing great pain in his shoulder along with the chronic pain, he already had, so he is not physically able to take care of the dogs we have here.”
The Fosters are both West TN Animal Coalition members and Debbie adds, “I want to continue working with the animals and would love to help the WTAC and other rescue groups. In short, we want to help anyone who needs us.”

There are about 20 animals currently being housed by the organization they must find new placement. Please check the West TN Animal Coalition Community’s
