Animal Protection Association Spay/Neuter Clinic Now Open!!!

The APA Spay/Neuter Clinic is open for business. The Clinic is located at 854 Goodman Street off Park Avenue near Getwell in Memphis, Tennessee.

The October 8th Grand Opening was so much fun and so many supporters, friends and family came to see the Clinic and celebrate. The Grand Opening committee, Debbie Merino, Gail Phillips and Meredith Shadrach along with other volunteers, had the Clinic looking great and provided lots of great snacks for everyone.

October 22nd was the first surgery day. Mewtopia Cat Rescue provided a room full of patients. Dr Isis Johnson along with vet techs Rachel Leon and John Clinton got all the little kitties “fixed” and safely home in no time. We have had 3 additional surgery days and have spayed/neutered 83 cats and dogs total! We will easily s/n over 25 per day but are taking it slow as we work through processes and get everyone trained.

The Clinic is designed to accommodate two veterinarians performing surgery on 60 plus cats and dogs per day. For now, the Clinic is open on Wednesday but should be open two days a week by December and adding days as demand and volunteer support increase.

The Clinic should be working at full capacity by the end of 2006. Our goal is to spay and neuter over 6,000 cats, dogs, puppies and kittens in 2006!!! Your help and support will make this happen and make our communities a better place for the animals. THANK YOU!
