Kris Mangels traveled from Iowa to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary three years ago with two of her friends, to spend time volunteering with the animals. Kris fell in love with one of our senior canines, a chocolate lab who had recently arrived and was spending time in the clinic. Kris ended up adopting “Faithful” and bringing her home to Iowa. Kris and her family had only one precious year with Faithful, but what a special, loving home they gave her!

Kris wanted all her extended family to come and visit Best Friends together, so she gathered up her spouse and son, her sister and her husband and kids and her brother and his wife and their kids and they all arrived for a “whirlwind” visit to take a tour of Best Friends. Kris and her 10 family members thoroughly enjoyed their much too short visit and they all plan to return again to be able to spend more time with the animals!

Thanks again Kris for adopting a Best Friends “senior” and for loving Faithful and finding a place in your home & heart for her! You didn’t count the years, but the love!!
