MeatOut – March 20, 2007
Hundreds of Meatout Events Being Planned
Meatout events are being planned in hundreds of communities in all 50 states and two dozen other countries. They range from elaborate Lifestivals and Congressional Reception to public dinners, cooking demos, exhibits, and simple information tables.
This year's theme is the link between meat production and global warming. Visitors are asked to "kick the meat habit on March 20th (first day of spring) and to explore an environment-friendly diet of fruits, vegetables, and grains."
FarmUSA will provide guidance, listing of your event, media contacts, and an Event Pack containing a banner, posters, and handouts. You provide a few hours of your time and lots of heart.
They’re still looking for Meatout Walk Coordinators to spread the vegetarian message and to raise funds for Meatout projects. Fundraising prizes include Meatout T-shirts and an AR2007 registration!
Hundreds of billboards, bus display cards, and letters to the editor will carry the Meatout message to millions. A number of governors and mayors will issue special proclamations.
