Farm Animal Wellness Seminar
In 2006, the seminar will focus on how animal agriculture is impacted by consumer pressure on the food industry regarding farm animal welfare, and what this means to veterinarians and producers.
Public interest in and scrutiny of animal welfare has lead to gradual changes in the raising, handling and medical treatment of production animals. However, many issues within the industry still require attention.
The objective of the Farm Animal Wellness seminar is to educate those involved in all aspects of animal agriculture regarding the current issues in production animal welfare and how these are being addressed. Progress made within the public, industrial and academic sectors of production medicine will continue to improve the lives of those animals we depend on as a food source.
The seminar is to be held on March 25-26, 2006 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine
