Harry Potter Tops 2007
What's in store for 2008?
Harry Potter books and DVDs topped the sales charts in both Britain and the U.S. for last year. Author J.K. Rowling was interviewed and asked if she would write any further about our favorite hero. She responded that she needed to give the story a break for about a decade.
Harry Potter fever isn't over, though.
Amazon.com just paid nearly $4 million at auction for the seventh handmade copy of
The Tales of Beedle the Bard. That whopping price does
not give Amazon permission to publish the book of fairy tales, but they do show pages and give synopses of the stories on the website at
Amazon.com/BeedleBard. The money went to
The Children's Voice, the charity that Rowling helped found.
