Once a "Hard to Adopt Dog" Now Just Call Him Officer Sir!
Below is an email from Sharitta Odom - a dedicated dog trainer out of Lometa, TX who took on Cedar (among a few others). Cedar was from the Lodge area and was considered hard to adopt. In an updated report to Kristi the Adoptions Coordinator at Best Friends, she fills us in on the stupendous news! Sharitta's name may look familiar to you as she was also instrumental in getting Doby (another "difficult" dog) also in training to be an officer and a gentleman, with her friend an colleague Misty Maldonado.
Kristi,
CEDAR MADE IT!... He got his detection certification on Marijuana, Cocaine and Methamphetamine; HE PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS!
They were tested in three different rooms, each one had a different drug hidden. The dogs were given 3 minutes to find the drugs in each room. They had a total of 9 minutes to alert for the total test. CEDAR FOUND ALL THE DRUGS IN 3 MINUTES! Needless to say, Darwin was ecstatic with his performance.
I have attached pictures of K-9 Officer Cedar in his uniform. He is officially a certified narcotic detection dog.
I hope this has made your week, he has his FOREVER HOME!
He will be a pampered member of law enforcement organization.
Sharitta
