He is a bestselling author who lives in Southern California with his family and their cadre of animals.

A book you cannot put down, From Baghdad to America is an outstanding follow up to the bestseller From Baghdad, With Love: A Marine, the War, and a Dog Named Lava. Kopelman delves right in this new book, pulling no punches and giving no excuses for his brilliant philosophy views on life.

Taking on the secretive world of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Kopelman uses his own experiences to take readers into a world many don’t get to see, and in all actuality most wouldn’t be able to handle. And through it all is... Lava, the dog he promised a group of Marines he would save from Iraq and in spite of overwhelming odds and obstacles that would test a superhero, he kept his word.

Now Lava finds himself in America, living the good life. But like so many others that have seen combat up close and personal, Lava carries the scars of war with him. It shows in Lava’s howling and barking at anyone he fears who is coming into his territory or getting too close to his family or by lashing out at any perceived dangers, real or otherwise.

But like true best friends, Kopelman and Lava’s bond is unbreakable and with each other's help they take on their war wounds together and come out the other side, slightly battered but learning to not just live life but to love it. It is a rough road at times, but Kopelman’s sense of humor and quick wit seem to carry both himself and Lava through, keeping what is truly important the primary focus.

The author is a hero in every sense of the word, not only through his actions on the battlefield, and saving the life of an animal in need or keeping his word to a group of Marines because that is what Marines do, but also because he opened the door on PTSD getting the word out that it is okay to ask for help.

While so many servicemen and women struggle silently, Kopelman is once again serving his country by leading the way for the lost heroic souls who’ve been forgotten by society.

From Baghdad to America is a heartwarming, hilarious and perfectly told story of a soldier learning, with the help of his dog, to live with the civilians he risked his life to protect. For anyone with a heartbeat, this is a must read and believe me, you’ll be sneaking breaks all day and for the first time in a long time and leave the TV off just to read a few pages more. Brilliant, brilliant and even more brilliant!

(Hardcover: 224 pages Publisher: Skyhorse Publishing (July 1, 2008) Product Dimensions: 9 x 6.2 x 1 inches.)

What you can do:
1.Order the book!

horseheal.jpg

apara.jpg

adoghugb.jpg

rab.jpg

rabbi pets.jpg

abigtipton33.jpg

aatipton33.jpg

acorgipeekUntitled.jpg

corgipeekUntitled.jpg

abrigitUntitled.jpg

brigitUntitled.jpg

aBrando%20and%20Lucy.jpg

Book Review: Life in Cold Blood

by David Attenborough - Book Review by Christy Crabtree

Author and host of numerous award-winning documentaries, David Attenborough offers up this beautifully illustrated companion book to the BBC and Animal Planet co-produced hit series Life in Cold Blood.
