We just wrapped up our last teen program for the season. We had four wonderful participants and in addition to working in the cat area we went for a hike. I gave each teen a journey pouch and let them choose a "spirit" rock. During our hike we ventured down to the creek where the teens waded in the cool water and searched for the perfect stones.

After lunch the teens decorated their journey pouches with beads, gems and other treasures. The last stop was the bird area. The teens gave the parrots a misting bath and then Maggie pulled out a huge selection of beads, string, rope and wooden blocks so that we could make parrot toys.

The next Teen program will begin in the fall.
