Rampage tags OwnUp SA for community-wide support

No bones about it, the San Antonio Rampage’s 2nd Annual Pucks & Paws event is sure to be a dog-gone good time. Join your neighbors on Saturday, March 14, when thousands of fans—and their faithful pooches—pack the AT&T Center to cheer on the San Antonio Rampage in their dogfight against the Chicago Wolves.

Pucks & Paws became a signature OwnUp SA event because of last year’s successful partnership with the Rampage. A portion of the proceeds directly benefits the Own Up SA initiative – a campaign generated to help San Antonio reach no-kill status by 2012.

Pucks & Paws drew in 6,516 San Antonio dog lovers and 522 of their four-legged friends at the first annual event, setting the standards high for this year’s turnout. More than 300 people signed OwnUp SA pledge cards, promising to spay or neuter their pets, keep pets safe and healthy, and/or adopt pets from a local animal shelter. Dogs of every size and breed frolicked and mingled while their owners learned about area shelters, obedience training and the benefits of low-cost spaying/neutering at the event. Many pet owners took advantage of discount micro-chipping and vaccination opportunities as well.

Considering last year’s success, both OwnUp SA and the San Antonio Rampage were more than happy to partner once again for this “paws-worthy” event. Pucks & Paws 2 is happening Saturday, March 14 at the AT&T Center. The pet fair and costume contest begins at 6:00 p.m. with adoption opportunities as well as a chance to receive helpful information and goodie bags. The hockey game starts at 7:00 p.m. Lower level tickets are $15 and dog tickets are $5 (while available) through TicketMaster.com.
