Southern Christian Leadership Conference Will NOT Honor Michael Vick - UPDATE 8/7

Amidst unprecedented controversy, SCLC President, Charles Steele noted that the group will find a way to recognize embattled Atlanta Falcons Quarterback at 49th Annual Conference. 8/7 UPDATE: SCLC has decided not to honor Vick.

A true Christian would not honor someone who abuses and murders God's beautiful four-legged Souls.
It is reasons like this, why many people get turned off by religion. They (religious groups) have a chance to speak on behalf of Animals (by banning an animal killer and abuser from their conference), and don't.
Politics as usual.
(They probably want a "contribution" from Vick.)

(This isnt an "anti-religious" statement, it is an "anti-ignorant, arrogant, speciesist, religious humans who dont care about God's four-legged Children" statement. Religious folks who care about Animals are wonderful souls, and I mean no disrespect towards them.)
