Louisville, KY Flood Prompts Evacuation of Animal Shelter:
On Tuesday morning August 4, 2009, Louisville, Kentucky received six inches of rain in 75 minutes, and flooding occurred.

The Best Friends Rapid Response team is not planning a response to this disaster. However, if you are close by or have resources they could use, the Metro Animal Services is in need of donated items and cash.
Items can be brought to the shelter at 3705 Manslick Rd. or to any Feeders Supply Location (large items should be brought to the shelter). Please note, donations are no longer being accepted at the fairgrounds!
