Angels are everywhere at Christmastime
Meredith Scrivener’s little dog, Abbey, who was older than she and her siblings by a number of years, died. Meredith was terribly upset and asked her mother, Joy, to write a letter to God asking the Lord to take care of her little dog. She sent some photos of the dog in the letter, which was posted that day with the Scrivener’s return address on the envelope. Meredith wanted God to know what Abbey looked like.
Several weeks went by. Meredith cried whenever she thought about her little dog, which was often.
One day after the Scriveners returned from a Labor Day trip, they found a package wrapped in gold on their front porch addressed to “Mer.” Inside the package was a book written by Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers TV fame titled “When a Pet Dies.” The letter Meredith had sent to God was taped to the book’s front cover.
