Lori could use some prayers

Lori doesn't get on much anymore, but she reads the forum and keeps everyone in her prayers. She is extremely busy with SOS and Colony Cats and goes to some event or fundraiser most weekend and also organizes most of these events. And she is also taking care of a mom cat and kittens that are being fostered at the spay/neuter clinic where she volunteers, SOS.

She has been having problems with very low white blood counts and has now been diagnosed with Lupus. It could be drug=induced due to meds for her rhematiod arthritis or a new onset autoimmune problem. Her mood is up and she doesn't slow down with her volunteer work and hopefully this will continue. If she couldn't do her work for the animals, I'm not sure how she would be affected.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Nora, I'm sorry that Lisa has been handed this new challenge..... that's one I wouldn't share with anyone, but know others who have the two in combination.  My lupus wasn't drug induced by RA meds, but preceded the RA diagnosis by several years.  Please pass along my thoughts and let Lisa know that she's in my prayers, okay?

I've added her to the HN list and pray that she will remain able to continue the volunteering with the kitties.

Keep us updated as you can, okay?

Huggles and prayers

my sweet friend Nora,

Lori told me about this and it saddens me.  I sure hope that it is the drug induced kind and can be reversed.  You and Lori remain in my prayers always.

**I must apologize for not being on here much since they changed the Network.  I don't much like it and generally only update Jiminy's blog; however, I am going to try and be better about visiting my favorite forums again.

Many hugs!

Lisa

Oh dear! I'll join you in hoping Lori's work with the animals won't be affected by this. I know that's one of  the most important things in her life. Prayers heading to the east for successful treatment and no ill effects!

Hugs

Nora,

I am so sorry to read this news.  But sometimes having the work that she does withthe animals can give her a reason to not let the disease get her down.  She will be in my prayers, I just wish there was more I could do for her, and for you.

Much love,

Nora,

Here is prayers from Illinois that she will be controlled by what ever means and be able to continue in her care of her beloved animals. It is a special calling she has, and I am sure that it will be as therapeutic to her to continue as it is to the animals she cares for.

Many prayers for Lori that this is med induced.

Hey all,

I can't tell you how much it means to come on and see your wonderful words of encouragement.  I think my Mom gives me a lot more credit than I'm do about keeping my attitude up.  Last weekend was just plain aweful.  I was missing Tamaya so much.  This is the first really nasty thing I've been diagnosed with since she went to the Rainbow Bridge and I wanted her curled up with me in the worst possible way.  I spent the weekend feeling pretty sorry for myself.

The condo community that I live in recently decided they were going to start trapping and removing cats.  They intended to use a pest removal company that would take the cats to the local Humane Society that has an 85% kill rate for cats.  Colony Cats has offered the TNR solution and it looks like they're going to take it providing we can give them two references that they can talk to.  We've given them one and waiting on a callback from another.  Colony caregivers tend to be very protective of their colonies and where they are even when it's an entire community that is caring for a colony.  So it's hard to get references at times.  I think it's pretty endearing, actually.  Please also keep the cats of Hilliard Commons in your prayers.

Finally, I'm so sorry that I haven't been on much.  Mom summed up what I have been doing and it takes a lot of my time.  It also keeps me from thinking about my health issues until I'm ready to deal.  SOS has become my second home.  I just love being there.  Speaking of SOS, you will be able to keep up with the goings on there as we've been accepted as a BF Network Charity and I'm in the process of setting up the group page.

Mom is right that I think about each of you everyday and you are in my prayers.  I never forget those who understand what I mean by The Lost Ones and I feel you all with me when we are taking care of a stray or when I'm down because of my health.  I love each and everyone of you.

Prayers are still headed your way, Lori, and I'll add the Hilliard Commons cats too. I do hope you can convince the PTB of the community to accept the TNR solution and build a stable colony rather than removing the cats and creating a vacuum other cats will soon fill.

We all know, I'm sure, that you're with us in spirit here. Even if you can't always post we know your thoughts and prayers are with us, and that means everything. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as well.

Hugs

Prayers continue from Edmonton for you, Lori, and I've added the Hilliard Commons cats to the SN list as well.  When you get a chance, let us know what's happening, okay?

It also keeps me from thinking about my health issues until I'm ready to deal.

And that can be a sanity saver, can't it?  It really helps if we've got a solid wall to separate problems that seem insurmountable in the present.

Gentle huggles and prayers
