I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding after Trixi crossed the Bridge. It really meant a lot to me to know so many cared about me and Miss Trixi. The house was so empty without its heart, so today a new heart has entered my home. His name is Dexter Morgan Bills. He is a Peke/possibly Spaniel mix, about five years old. I am attaching a photo of him for everyone to see. He is so very cute and cuddly and good with cats. He has fallen in love with his cousins, Sierra and Max and with his Auntie Marion and Uncle Brad.
Here is his photo
Thank you again with all my heart,
Perkey
Perkey,
Dexter is very handsome. Thank you for opening your heart to a new fur baby, I know Dexter appreciates it :) And Trixi approves, after-all, our bridge kids usually send us the next heart to help heal their absence.
Hugs and Pets,
Kay

Thank you for sharing Dexter with us, Perkey. He's so handsome, and looks cuddly. He looks as if he's leaning into you (I'm assuming that it's you with him [s]) and loving every minute. Is there really a little brown shading in his fur, or a trick of lighting? And his white spotlight on his head is very unique, I've never seen amything like that before; white spots are pretty common but Dexter's looks as if someone touched him on his forehead and said "I'll take you".

Trixi surely had a paw in sending Dexter to help heal your heart, Perkey. She didn't want you go a moment longer without a fur baby to dote on, Trixi is not only a beautiful angel at the Bridge, but a wise one as well.

What a precious little Dexter. He is looking so pleased to be in your? lap. No doubt Trixi would approve!
May you have a long & happy life together.

Dearest Perkey,
I am so pleased to make your aquaintance. And Dexter is quite charming. He looks like he will be very happy with his new family, including extended family. ;-)
I sure hope you will drop by again to say hi sometime. Or you could let Dexter have the 'puter and let him "woof" on Critter Conversations.
Much love, many prayers and infinite Hope,
Jabi (who wonders if that white spot is Trixi's pawprint)
Very happy to finally meet you, Perkey! Our animals are so amazing and I have no doubt whatsoever that Trixi was very involved in finding that perfect fur person to be a solace to your soul. Blessings upon you for being willing to open your heart so soon for another bucket of love to pour into your heart. Wisely, we all know that our departed ones are never replaced...we simply create room for yet another to join the family. The more you allow yourself to love, the more folks that seem to show up to soak up all that good love. And Mr. Dexter looks like a super sized love sponge!
Hugs from all the paws, claws, hooved and winged ones here!

Since our Trixi crossed there have been several interesting "signs" of a bit of nudging from the Bridge. I was concerned about how my dogs would react the first time Perk came over without Trixi, but they took it completely in stride and didn't seem confused a bit. And today we stopped at my place before Perkey took Dexter home. Again I was concerned so we leashed both of our dogs before bringing Dexter inside and let them sniff each other through the gate over the stairs, then took them outside, all dragging leashes just in case.
We needn't have bothered. Max was curious and sniffed Dexter quite a bit, plus poked him with his nose a few times, but Dexter just ignored it and went on exploring. It didn't take five minutes before they were all acting like they'd known each other forever. He loves his new uncle and the feeling is mutual.
Dexter is home now, and doing very well, ignoring the cats pretty much, using the door into the secure outdoor enclosure like he'd been living there forever and getting acquainted with the dogs next door.
There has to be a very potent doggie angel behind the scenes! Bless you little Trixilena.
Hugs
Auntie Marion
Hi, Marf,
Yes that is me with Dexter. It's one of the best photo's of Me ever taken. Dexter is brown and black with just a little white. The mark on his forehead is very special. He slept with me last night, cuddled up and we only got up once, he went out in the playyard and then came back to bed. We've already had one game of fetch this morning.
Jabi,
I'm not sure it would be wise to let him have the puter. He might start telling family secrets. My cats are still not quite sure what to make of a new dog, one so much bigger than their empress sister was. But Dexter doesn't bother them, and though they are keeping to higher ground, they don't seem to be scared of him. Just confused. I know it will work out.
I don't know if the white spot is Trixi's pawprint or just his goodness shining through, or maybe a little of both.
I'm so excited, Perk! Auntie Joy can't wait to meet her new nephew!!!!
Me too, Joy. I'm afraid that it won't be until spring or early summer before you meet your new nephew, unless you are coming up here? This is not the time for driving long distances and going up over the mountains, the weather is too iffy, and I don't like driving in snow storms.
Dexter is looking forward to meeting you, too, as I've told him that you are his new auntie and will make a big fuss over him. (not that his Uncle Brad and Auntie Marion haven't) <G>
Oh, but it would be alright for me to drive over the mountains in the snow? :-) Thanks for telling Dexter about me. I'll have to make an extra big fuss in the spring!
I didn't mean it that way, Joy. I just thought maybe you were planning on coming up.
Yeah, 'cause my schedule would allow that. :-) See the e-mail I just sent you!
