My dearest forum family,

Prayers are needed here for a different reason than I have ever had before.  You see,  My husband and I found a little puppy, today, running as fast as it could down the center of the highway.  We were on our way to my Mom's for her birthday and had gotten about a mile from home and this puppy was running the same way we were going and when we caught up with her we stopped, I opened the door and whistled.  She then proceeded to circle the car, twice, and on the second loop she jumped up into my lap and proceeded to lick my face off.  Needless to say she is very friendly.

I've stuffed mail boxes with flyers and e-mailed everyone I know close by, but I'm afraid she was dumped "out in the country" the way so many people do with litters they don't want.

We cannot keep her.  I have an awful flea allergy.  All of my cats are strictly indoor cats so they have no fleas.  She is so precious and I'm hoping to get a call from a distraught owner that has lost their puppy so I can get her back to them.  But I'm not holding my breath.  Second best would be to find someone that wants this precious little jewel.

She is so cute.  Looks to be about 12 weeks old, black and red, looks to have some rottie in her, maybe some shepherd....don't know what else...she is just precious.

If you can spare some...please ask a prayer or two that we can find this sweet baby a wonderful forever home.

Thanks, greatly...

Much love, many prayers and infinite Hope,

Jabi

Prayers are on the way, Jabi. Did you have the little one scanned for a microchip yet? If she was dumped she probably won't have one, but most vets will do the scan for free, and most of the shelters, and even some of the rescue groups here have them, it's likely to be the same in your area.

It sure wouldn't hurt to post something in your state group. Click the "Go Local" tab at the top of the page then click your state on the map. You'll probably find a list of rescue groups in the group's Resources area too, just in case you don't find the baby's home.

I second the microchip idea Jabi.  I know with the current economic situation, most shelters are full.  Is there any way this sweetie can stay in a garage or shed or something while her home is found?  A dab of Frontline or similar to keep her flea free.  I don't like using chemicals, but I know there are more fleas and ticks since it is wetter there.  I totally understand about the getting too attached thing.

Can you post her on Petfinder or maybe call a local news program?  It could still be her family is looking for her if they were moving or something.

Prayers and Homeward like for the little one.

Bless you and Crawford for stopping for this pup, Jabi..... but you couldn't do any less, being the people you are, I know.  I've added puppy to the SN list and many prayers are rising here for her and you.

Have you checked with the local vets.... she may have had her first shots and be on record at a clinic.  Also, we've got some radio stations here that will advertise a lost or found pet, especially babies.  My younger daughter got one of her kiddens back through a radio station.  Tahita jumped through the balcomy rail and before Pat could get downstairs had vanished.

Huggles and prayers

What a truly lucky puppy to cross your path!  I hope you find her a loving home soon.
