Notice to rescue groups offering to take animals
Here’s how it works.
Many thanks to all the rescue groups who have been offering to help by taking some of the animals from Pets Alive. We’ll be responding to all of them as quickly as possible.
Before we start the application process for transfer of each animal, we need to complete the initial medical checks. Many of the dogs and cats have been through some difficult times, and we want to make sure they go to places to which they’ll be most suited, and which will, in turn, be most suited to looking after them.
We also need to complete preliminary assessments on behavior and health so there are no surprises down the road. In many cases this will take some time, so please be patient with the team on the ground at Pets Alive.
One other thing: it’s best that you not simply show up at the Pets Alive sanctuary. (That tends to slow things down rather than speed them up!) If you want to join in as a volunteer, that’s most welcome, and please go
here to submit an application. Otherwise please let us get back to you to schedule a visit.
Thank you again for your kind offers of help
