The Great Treat Caper
The cats were supposed to be in class but Gilla got the lesson!
Gilla's adventures in Cat World, introducing the techniques of Miss Sherry's Finishing School for Felines, tresulted in criminal charges against some kitties! Pictured above is Maurice who got off scot-free. But that's not the same as innocent, now is it? This baby was born in March 2008 and came from someone who had too many cats.Fact: In the early afternoon, the carrybag of Gilla Gidlow, cat volunteer and socializer, had been vandalized and the bag of treats within stolen and later devoured. (The crime was committed in Morgaine's 3 where adoptable cats who are painfully shy ,or just plain stand-offish, often live.)
An extensive investigation was launched after the crime came to light and from witness statements and deduction we put together a picture of how the crime had been accomplished.
After arriving in the third room at Morgain’s, Gilla had carelessly left her plastic bag with treats, drinks, etc. inside the room while she visited with the cats outside.
CLANCY THE CUDDLER

Clancy, a handsome black and white gentleman, beckoned her to sit down in the afternoon sun and proceeded to have a heartfelt and very purracious cuddle. Will, a gorgeous grey tabby boy, joined them and made sure that with his sweet antics, e.g. rolling to have his tummy stroked and his deep purr, Gilla would not be aware of the events unfolding inside the room.
WILL THE DECEIVER

Meanwhile inside, Torreon, an outgoing rascally and very smart young Tuxedo boy and prime suspect, had discovered the bag and proceeded to rifle through it and shortly succeeded in shaking loose the treat bag.
PRIME SUSPECT TORREON

The bag feel into a cat bed below and there Jack, a typically sweet and loving big orange tabby boy, started to chew and claw at the bag to get to the treats.

JACK took turns with Torreon, Harry, an oh so loving Siamese-cross and two ladies, Speedy, a pretty tabby sweetheart, and Cayenta, a rare orange and white rascally and playful girl, to try to open the bag. After ripping a hole in the bottom of the bag everyone got a share of the treats.
HARRY CAUGHT IN THE ACT

Another prime suspect, Maurice, a handsome young playful tabby, who seemed at first to have his paw prints all over the crime, was later ruled out. He had been observed stalking a flying ant for about 30 minutes, preferring his food on 'the Hoof'.
SPEEDY

Warrants are now outstanding for the following felonious felines:
Torreon, Harry, Jack, Cayenta and Speedy.
CAYENTA

Charges were considered for Clancy and Will as accessories, but later dropped, as they did not benefit from the crime, except for having a wonderful cuddle.
Gilla Gidlow was cautioned to be more careful with her bag - otherwise she will be charged with entrapment.
