Milton's paradise
Milton will be tucked in at Angel's Rest 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 , done with his battle against kidney failure, one of the victors of the Great Kitty Rescue.

But in the last few weeks of his life in the yurt known as Miss Kitty's at Rescue Village, Milton was holding high-level meetings.

One of his caregivers, Robin, said he would march out into the play area by the front door and use a meow that sounded suspiciously like a duck quack. Regardless of what they were doing, Gumbo, Cayenne and Ralph would come running and join Milton. This happened several times a day, every day.

After Miltion was helped to cross the Rainbow Bridge, he was brought back to Miss Kitty's so his cat friends could say good-bye.

All of a sudden, Robin said, Gumbo, Cayenne and Ralph lifted their heads, ran out the front door and convened at the sandy spot where Milton used to summon them.

Whatever profound discussions were held, it was cat business of the highest order and we can only suspect that Milton's spirit was there with his friends.

I wish I had met Milton but in some spiritual way I feel I know all of the GKR cats. I will be offering up kitty prayers and words of comfort for Milton and all of you there tomorrow.

Thank you folks for making Milton know that there are caring humans in the world. There is not a day that Barbara and I neglect to say something good about the rescue efforts that you and others have done.
Bless your hearts for making the world a little bit better place.

Good bye Milton - you will be missed. You worked so hard at being brave and learning to trust. I know how much you wanted pets and I'm sorry I could only send them to you in my thoughts...but I'm sure I saw you catch a few of them!

Good-bye, Milton, and may you find peace and happiness at the Rainbow Bridge. And please say hello to my boy Hubert. He recently passed away from kidney failure too. And the last week, when he stayed in the bedroom, the other cats all stayed in there with him. They know much more than we sometimes think they do.

Milton will never be forgotten. I love it that the kitties are always allowed to say goodbye to their friends that have passed. There is so much spiritual messaging that goes on, and this is a beautiful story about just that.

Another Pahrump kitty gone to the Rainbow's Bridge. How sad. You will be missed by all of us. Play again happily now that you are no longer sick with all the other kitties that have passed sweet baby.
