Milton's paradise
Milton will be tucked in at Angel's Rest 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 , done with his battle against kidney failure, one of the victors of the Great Kitty Rescue.
But in the last few weeks of his life in the yurt known as Miss Kitty's at Rescue Village, Milton was holding high-level meetings.
One of his caregivers, Robin, said he would march out into the play area by the front door and use a meow that sounded suspiciously like a duck quack. Regardless of what they were doing, Gumbo, Cayenne and Ralph would come running and join Milton. This happened several times a day, every day.
After Miltion was helped to cross the Rainbow Bridge, he was brought back to Miss Kitty's so his cat friends could say good-bye.
All of a sudden, Robin said, Gumbo, Cayenne and Ralph lifted their heads, ran out the front door and convened at the sandy spot where Milton used to summon them.
Whatever profound discussions were held, it was cat business of the highest order and we can only suspect that Milton's spirit was there with his friends.
