Is Bruce the black cat from Pahrump that had gotten adopted out but for some strange reason brought back, because we did the adoption and delivery from the Pahrump Casino and he was so sweet

I also said prayers for all these babies as I drove home from work today wish I could have been there. It is so sad that they did not get to have a loving family to call their own, and I asked my babies that passed to them them all under their wings and give them lots of licks and snuggle with them all and play well together sweet angels. You are not forgotten,

Fletch,
The reason Wags is not on the list is because she was loved and cherished in a home at the time of her death and she is not one of the ones buried in Angels Rest.

But nobody will ever forget this brave spirit.

My husband and I spent several days in Pahrump last Fall and a week in Kanab working at Pussycat Lounge. The cats from the Great Kitty Rescue will always hold a very special place in our hearts. When we heard about the dedication and memorial ceremony, we knew without a doubt that we had to do something special on the evening of the ceremony because we wanted to be there in spirit from Atlanta. At 7:30, we stopped what we were doing and said a prayer for the kitties who have crossed and those who survived, for all of the volunteers and staff who worked on the rescue, for a just resolution to the legal action, for future similar situations, for our own rescue kitties and we thanked God for allowing us to be a part of Best Friends and their rescue work. I had photos from the rescue and some of the cats and a photo of Angels Rest. I read the Rainbow Bridge Story and the names of those who have crossed. All of this was quite a challenge since we were at a Braves baseball game at Turner Field. At the end of our “private” ceremony, we tossed flower petals from the top level of the stadium in remembrance of the great kitty souls who have transitioned to the Bridge.

To honor these cats is so easy to do, knowing what they had gone through at the hands of neglect & cruelty. They suffered more than I could even imagine. I lit a candle for all their souls & do light the Lavendar scented candle that my kitties so love in their memory everyday. It was this Best Friends campaign that got my interest more than any, as I had lived in Las Vegas in 2002 and briefly knew of the group.... but, had little contact with them. These horrors have to be routed out as Best Friends & the brave souls who finally told the truth about this horror in the desert should be honored also. This wonderful rescue has brought to light the immense suffering cats face also in unchecked hoarder situations.

God Bless You Little Ones.... my candle - it burns for you...

As I read through this list, it is almost too painful to bear, knowing that the main reason they have passed is due to neglect and starvation before help arrived. Thank you every one that helped and made a difference in these precious lives. We honor you also. It took a lot of courage to face such appauling despair and keep working in those temperatures without falling apart just from sadness and the enormity of the situation. You deserve medals.

I would also like to give a special four paw salute to the person(s) who thought to further investigate whether or not the "ferals" were just scardy cats needing a little extra TLC. When I volunteered there in September, there was a special area set up for the "ferals". By the time I returned in November, the fence was down, and the process of socializing all of the precious kitties had begun. Whoever had the idea not to give up on the presumed ferals, I hope you know what a special angel you are. Every one of you who participated made a huge difference in the lives of many, many kitties, but that idea was a gem.

I wish I could have made it to the memorial service, but it was not to be. Could someone who was there be so kind and give a brief synopsis of the ceremony? Thanks, I appreciate it. Did the chimes ring?

Best Friends Sanctuary is absolutely breathtaking; the beauty of this haven cannot be described, it must be seen. There is no place on earth more appropriate for a dedication ceremony for such great loss.

Lollipop’s dedication was very touching. Watching Lollipop’s fur blow in the breeze and looking at so many grave markers beyond her body, was truly heartbreaking. Commitment, kindness and respect for all animals, in life and death were accentuated during the ceremony. Reading each name out loud highlighted the enormity of lives needlessly taken.

Russ’ flute along with the chimes that sounded occasionally, added to the beauty of the ceremony. The soft musical sound released emotion that had been buried during the rescue. Many tears were shed for the ones who could not survive and for the people who tried so desperately to save them.

thank you for including the non-felines as well. i am sad to hear that the chinchillas, degu & fish didn't survive. i was hoping at least a couple of them would make it, since they were mentioned originally. did anyone here care for them or see them once they were at BF? i keep hoping they had some comfort and (if possible) play in their last days.

Wags will not be forgotten. We are currently working to develop some type of tag/coin that will be placed in the wishing well at the Pahrump area of Angels Rest. The plan is that there will be a coin/tag for any Pahrump kitty who has gone to the Rainbow Bridge but was not placed at Angels Rest. The coin/tag will have the cat's name engraved on it.
