Jinx needs a change of luck
Do you like a cat with an edge? Never mind the bucket on his head. Picture this cat strutting down the street in a black leather jacket, smoothing his whiskers with his paw, and snarling at anyone who dares look at him.
Jinx has the street cat attitude down cold. But he just can’t live that outdoor life anymore.
What incredibly rotten luck this boy with the fair pink nose had! He was baking in the harsh Nevada desert sun at the Pahrump compound, out in the bushes with the rest of the terrified cats.
Jinx developed a skin cancer. The skin cancer had to be removed and unfortunately, so did most of what was Jinx’s nose. The veterinarians believe they got all of the skin cancer and there is no sign of it anywhere else in Jinx’s body.
“He definitely wants everyone to believe he is a tough guy,” team leader Sherry Woodard said. “Right now he’s on antibiotics because he had a dental and so we have to net him twice a day. That’s the only time I can pet him.”
This is a cat who needs a family that will keep him indoors for the rest of his life. Jinx needs a family willing to let him just be, and admire his good looks from a distance.
Jinx gets along fine with other cats and would probably be happy hanging out with cats in a house…and keeping an eye on people.
Now, we can’t say for sure he will never buckle and start coming around for pets. We just can’t promise that he will ever be any friendlier than he is right now.
“We do our best to make this place comfortable, but it is definitely not homey. The facility in Pahrump is far from an ideal situation and it may well be that when Jinx is in a home setting, he may be a different guy,” Sherry said.
So we are looking for folks who can appreciate a guy with an attitude and are willing to play by Jinx’s rules.
