Meet the Kitties of Cat House #7
Volunteer Gilla Gidlow is inviting everyone to come with her into Cat House #7 to meet the cats she photographed and “interviewed” for this story:
Some of the nicest cats still remaining at the Great Kitty Rescue reside in Cat House #7 and I was lucky to meet them.
There are friendly cats in every building, but “Seven” has the most--and such beauties too.

Flower
(Pictured left) is a perfect little tabby/white lady. She greets you, stays for a cuddle and purrs her lovely purr. Even after you leave this sweetheart, you can still hear her purr across the room. Then, feeling content and happy, she has a snack and amuses herself with one of the many toys on the floor. Another pleasure to watch is Flower, and with such a loving personality, she will be the perfect companion.

Mingus
(Pictured right with Tazo), a handsome white fellow with golden eyes joined Flower on the floor for a game. He is a big boy with lots of energy and attitude. After his play he sat on his bed on the shelf and groomed himself. As Tazo, one of the shier cats walked by, Mingus seized her and gave her a good grooming, making sure she was squeaky clean before he let her go. He settled down at last and I approached. He wasn’t sure about me at first, but when I wouldn’t hesitate and gave him a nice pet behind the head and stroked the bridge of his nose he started to relax and purr in contentment. I spent a lot of time with this sweet boy. He is a true character--loving, energetic and very entertaining.

Hilton
(Pictured left), a blue-eyed Siamese mix, and Ashleigh, a grey tabby longhair, had settled in for a nice nap by the window. Being so close together, I couldn’t just pet one, but was obliged to give them both attention. I couldn’t tell you who purred the loudest, but I was serenaded by these beauties. Hilton could hardly get enough and would stand up to rub against my face from time to time and then settle back into her comfy bed. Ashleigh had a loving, angelic look on her pretty face and I was thrilled to give both these cats such happiness.

On the shelf above Hilton and Ashleigh, Ivory
(Pictured right) watched with interest. When I had decided to move on, I slowly approached her. She pulled back a bit, not sure at first, but soon warmed up to my advances and even moved with my hand for a full body massage. Hilton was still purring so loud that it drowned out Ivory’s quiet purr, but the contentment showed on her pretty face. Looking closer I saw the longest ear tufts framing her face - what a gorgeous girl!

Two orange Tabby gentlemen are Warrior
(Pictured below) and Titan
(Pictured left). Titan is the more outgoing of the two, with a very relaxed and loving personality. He lounged on a comfortable bed and, when approached, gazed at me lovingly and positioned himself to get a tummy rub. Warrior is a gorgeous long-haired orange Tabby with a white muzzle, who squeezes his eyes with pleasure when he’s touched. His fur is lustrous and soft. He loves to move with your hand and will switch on his quiet purr and just enjoy.

I hope to tell you more about the kitties of Cat House # 7. A few are just on the verge of trusting again, like little Tazo, groomed by Mingus. She can be touched but will soon run off - still too scared to trust completely. Slate, a gorgeous grey long-haired, just let me touch him for the first time, still protesting with a hiss. He didn’t run away--success comes in small steps--perhaps tomorrow he won’t hiss.
