Best Friends called in to assist more than 800 cats in distress in Pahrump, Nevada
About the Nye County Cat Rescue
In July of 2007 Best Friends Animal Society supported the Nye County Animal Control in caring for approximately 800 cats at the FLOCK (For Love of Cats and Kittens) compound in Pahrump, Nevada.
Staff and volunteers provided tender loving care for the cats, many of whom suffered from illness and malnutrition. An on-site veterinarian took care of immediate medical needs while a team was busy cleaning the facility.
Many individuals and businesses from the area stepped up to offer assistance from supplies to providing adoption venues, the Great Kitty Rescue was the result of compassionate people coming together to make a difference.
There are roughly 200 Great Kitty Rescue cats still available for adoption through Best Friends. Please go to the Adorable Adoptables section to check out wonderful cats that are ready to go home. Click here to see available kitties.
