Rex Wisconsin Bound!
How can you not love a dog that puts up with a feisty female run mate and takes on rattlesnakes? The answer is you can’t. His new family found him impossible to resist on a recent visit and he's now on his way to his new home in Wisconsin.
Rex is the perfect mix of chivalry and is as brave as they come, dispatching a rattlesnake and living to tell the tale. His caregivers found him with a swollen nose one day and nearby was the apparent perpetrator, a lifeless rattlesnake. They rushed him to the clinic and he was back in his run as good as new within a couple of days. Boy, that was close!
And it's no secret that Rex is known for his soft touch with the ladies. Sophie has been his run mate for over a year now and well, let's just say she's not the easiest of gals to get along with. "I want your toy, Rex." Sure, no problem, Sophie. It looks from the above photo he'll put these skills to good use. The fetching, fluffy blond at the end of the leash is one of two sisters he'll share his new home with. At age 18 I’m sure she will have an appreciation for Rex's sweet charm. His other sister, the shyer of the two, is partially hidden behind a family member in the photo.
Rex and his new family stopped by the Welcome Center to say goodbye and pause for a photo. His new human family members are on the far left and right with Isolde and Lynn from the Welcome Center in the middle.
Happy trails, Rex. Health and much joy in your new home.
