Petsmart has shipped the kongs today but the chicken jerky is backordered and will ship within the next week.

Any idea Pat who I can email to find out how Hopee is doing?

I think Jeanne and Robin are volunteering at the Garden today or tomorrow.  I've already "ordered" up an "air-hug" (probably as close as they'll get to her) for the copper beauty.  I'm sure they will be posting about her.

We will also be starting a "Wish List" over in the Garden Forum for those who would like to send gifts to their favorites over there.

The current list for Easy Walk Harnesses has been fulfilled.  Thanks to all who were so generous in supplying these harnesses and making life a little easier for the dogs, caregivers and volunteers.  We hope to follow up with some photos and videos of the lucky recipients donning their new garb.

Please check back occasionally for updates to our "Wish List" as future needs and wishes are added.  If you have any ideas for items that should be added to the list please let me know.

Thank you, thank you, thank you all SO much for purchasing much needed items for the dogs at Maggie's.  You are so generous and kind, we are simply overwhelmed by your love.  May I ask a favor of those who donated items to Maggie's?  The caregivers at Maggie's would like to thank you personally.  Could you email me your private email addresses so that I could forward your addresses to the caregivers?  My email address is jeannemodesitt1@yahoo.com.  Please include in your email the items you purchased for Maggie's.  Thank you so much.  And thank you again for your generosity.  To quote the dogs, "WE LOVE YOU!"

Anyone know if Maggie's got the box from Petsmart yet?  It was delivered around 1 PM.

Jeanne - did you get my email?

Cathy, thank you for your email!  I will be up at the sanctuary on Saturday, and will find out about your box from Petsmart.

Also, Robin and I plan to take Hopee out for an outing on Sunday!  She loves her long hikes (and treats!).

Thanks Jeanne.  My friend Kathi and I will be there on Sunday and Monday!  I can hardly wait.  Of course we get in tomorrow (Sat) night in time to get a couple of sleepover dogs!  Hope to see you while we are there.  We met Hopee at the Garden in January.  She wasn't too interested in treats then, so I'm thinking she has come a long way!  What a little sweetie!

Cathy, Maggie's did receive your box today.  They are thrilled!  You can probably hear the "happy-dance" from here. :-)

Oh that's great!  Thanks Pat.  The fleece blankets are due to arrive on Monday.  Too bad they couldn't get those today as I see the forecast is calling for snow on Saturday.  Probably just to welcome us Texans!

Too bad you can't take multiple dogs on sleepovers.   Sounds like a 3-dog-night.  Give Theresa a big hug for me and ask what size T-shirt she wears.  I guess she will expect one of her own Kim Santini shirts.

Yes indeed!  Kathi and I each have our own cabin, so we each can have a dog to snuggle with.  We just have to make sure they get along (we've always had run mates) while we are together in the evening (before bed).  Our last night in January (which was our first trip) it snowed but we had no sleepovers since we had to leave too early in the morning.  Now we get flights out of Vegas later!

I will definitely have to meet Miss Theresa!  There are so many I want to meet and so little time!  That's why we have already scheduled 3 trips in 2010!

The Lodge dogs have  had the reputation for not playing well with others.  Well, perhaps that's true, but the caregivers and trainers are always working hard to help them improve their social skills.  Take thank-you notes, for instance.   A lot of the Lodge dogs have admirers who send them gifts.  Our local volunteers, Jeanne and Robin have been working with them on their "thank-you" skills.

Our recent "Wish List" was completed in record time and some very generous members ordered Easy Walk Harnesses from the Best Friends Gift Shop.  Jeanne and Robin were on hand this Saturday as several of the dogs modeled their new harnesses.

Palmer:  "I feel so handsome in my new harness.  I think I even saw Shannon blush when she first saw me in it.   I just know I'll get out on more walks.  Thank you so much, CBurk."

Coconut:  "Mpjackson, how did you know red was my favorite color?   It doesn't make me look fat, does it?  No, I think I look splendid.   The other dogs will be sooooo jealous!  Thanks so much, mpjackson!"

Twyla:  "Surely you've heard that accessories make the woman.  How "glam" am I???  Thank you, thank you, Ms. Tigifred.  My "little black look" needed this."

As I get photos I will post them so you can see how great these harnesses look.  It may take a week or so to get them all done. Some of the red collar dogs need a bit of time to adjust and want their photo shoots  when they are really comfortable and look their best.  Many are wrapped up in writing their thank you notes as well.

I'll be visiting BF on 12/9 and will have lots of blankets and treats for poochies with skin allergies (salmon).

If anyone can help direct me to different areas that may be able to use them, I am happy to deliver!!!

I know that I will definitely be stopping in to say hello at Amra's and the Lodges, but if you know of anyone else who might want blankets or salmon treats, please let me know.

Thanks,

Daisy's Mom

Hi Heidi,

How sweet of you to come bearing gifts.  The pitties would love you anyway, of course.  The other area that has blankets on their wish list is Maggies.  As far as treats, most of the other areas have "small, soft treats" on their lists.  Here are links to the Holiday Wish lists:

Have a great time while visiting and thanks in advance for your generosity.
