I know it's hard to believe the Lodge dogs want anything more than the perfect forever home. Well there's certainly some truth to that, but until the right homes come along there may be some supplies that will make the dogs' lives and caregivers' jobs a little easier. What the Lodge dogs appreciate the most from their many fans is their love and devotion which you all demonstrate in every post and during your many visits. If you would also like to fulfill any of their special "wishes", I have provided a list below that I will attempt to keep current. Thanks so much for being the best fans on the Best Friends Network.
Many of these items can be ordered at a discount from the Best Friends Gift shop. When it relates to specific dogs, the Gift Shop has their names and sizes on their list. Please refer to the dog(s) name when placing your order.
Best Friends Gift Shop: Ph: 435-644-2001 ext. 4144. Giftshop@Bestfriends.org
If you are shipping items directly to the Lodges from an outside source address packages to:
(Dog's name) @ The Lodges in Dogtown
C/O Best Friends Animal Society

It would also be helpful to include a note inside the box directing it to a specific dog, if that is your wish.

I just got off the phone from buying one for John Wyatt, so he is taken care of! :)

The kindness one does for an animal may not change the world, but it will change the world for that one animal.
I just got off the phone buying Pirate's.
Thank you all for purchasing Easy Walk harnesses for the Lodge Dogs! Lynn and Brittan in the gift shop are racing to keep up with your orders and at the same time are teary-eyed as they witness your generosity. You all are AWESOME-PAWSOME.
You guys are way to fast for me. I think the next Lodge Manager will be a lot faster than me.
Pat,
THANK YOU for putting this together. I have asked the Lodges caregivers to put together a Holiday Wish List for the Lodges dogs, and they are happily doing so. (You should see the request by Andrea for a certain something for Ogy...) When the list is completed, I'll post it here.
And what do you mean, the "next" Lodge Manager? Didn't you read your contract? (It's posted in the New Friends Kitchen.) We have voted you in for LIFE!!
Jeanne, if you would be so kind to send me Santa's list and I will make a special addition to the list above so everyone knows where to look.
Flattypatty thought she might like to take over for awhile. :-)

That's a very nice article for the crazy cat lady! I know you have several user names, but Flattypatty isn't really one of them, is it?

Okay, now you're going to get me into trouble. ;-) I only have one other user name (chattykatty) and that's on Best Friends.org. For some reason when the Network came along they wouldn't let me use chattykatty, so pattycatty was born. Flattypatty is my two-dimenshional alter-ego who did a volunteer stint along with her sister Flattyfancypantsy at the sanctuary during a time I couldn't come out. They've kind of developed a life of their own. Neither has had time to join the Network.
That sounds reasonable!!! So, can we now address you as Flattyfancypantsy? Or will just FlattyPatty do?
I think either way it is really cute and you gave me a much needed laugh today. Have a wonderful afternoon FP.
Kathi
To keep things organized, please refer to the top-most post for updates on the "Wish List". I'll keep adding new dogs and items as I am apprised and if you would like to let me know by posting here or in the dog's bio thread that you have provided an item I can update the list.
If I have listed the wrong donors with the wrong dogs for the harnesses, I apologize. This all came pouring in fast and furious and I may have gotten some of them confused. This is why brides have a maid of honor at the shower to document the gifts as they are opened. You can send me an email by clicking on "Contact" in the right margin and I'll make the correction.
Thank you again for all your generosity. The Lodge dogs are so lucky to have you on their side.

You're right Kathi - I always get a good laugh with Pat's sense of humor! I might have thought of that but 2 days later!

That is usualy the way I am. Very slow on the uptake. I just read your biography and am jealous that you have been to BF. I so much want to go, but with a job a two furbabies and a husband it has not been possible yet. But one day!!! Hope you have a great weekend.
My trip to BF was the best trip I think I have ever been on. I felt like I was home! You definitely need to go. We went in January. As we were leaving I was emailing back to find out when we could get cabins again this year. I had a family vacation with my 88 year old father so my friend came with another friend in August. Then we also got November (I can hardly wait). We also booked three trips for next year. Believe me it is worth the shuffling around to do it. I of course work full time and have 2 furbabies. No husband, but I travel someplace nice with my dad every year (we went to Alaska in August and Scandinavia and Russia are planned for next year). I'm sure that when I retire and my father is gone I will be moving to Utah to work (or volunteer) full time!
Pat - Thanks so much for putting this post together and for all of the hard work you do in managing the Lodge Dogs group and Forum.
Jeanne - Thanks for getting the ball rolling on this effort and for all the time you put into helping out the Lodge Dogs.
