Great news! This week the House Judiciary Committee approved the Conyers-Burton Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008,
H.R. 6598. However, both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate still need to vote to pass this important legislation prior to the end of the congressional session fast approaching.
If passed, it would prohibit the transport of equines over national borders to be slaughtered for human consumption.
