Special needs bunnies find special people
Mother and daughter team Mary and Lisa Carrara experienced a major life change in the time that it takes to make a U-turn. The avid rabbit lovers had just spent a week at the Best Friends rabbit rescue ranch in the roles of wranglers, feeders, cleaners, medicators, and bunny friends. The night before they left, they were both wishing they could do more.
They had only driven a couple of miles toward their Las Vegas home when they made a U-turn back to the ranch. They had decided they could do more -- a lot more.
When they left the second time, Mary and Lisa had become Rabbit Rangers -- their car packed with 17 special needs rabbits.
It’s been a couple of weeks since the bunnies arrived and now the biggest problem facing Lisa and Mary is that they may be feeling a bit lonely be when the bunnies are adopted into permanent homes!

"The babies are all doing very well,” says Lisa. ”They love being on the lawn and eating grass. We’ve made sure that they get lots of love and attention and all 17 of them were named in the first week. They love getting their medicine, they love the dogs and cat and are very tame. These are obviously great qualities for adoption and will hopefully increase their chances for good homes.”
