A Bunny Birthday!
Caleb had a very special ninth birthday. He spent it with the bunnies at the Rescue Ranch!
We first met Caleb at a Petco store, where the rescue team had been invited to set up a booth. Piper Crussell was telling shoppers about rabbits and rabbit care when Caleb's family stopped by. Caleb’s face just glowed!
His mom mentioned that this was his ninth birthday. And when Piper heard that, she invited the whole family to come to the rescue ranch and pet more bunnies than they could rightly imagine! Caleb’s parents asked whether he would rather play with his new birthday toys, but he said no. He wanted to go see the bunnies!
So the next day, the staff and volunteers sang “Happy Birthday” to Caleb while he greeted one long-eared fuzzy after another. His parents learned all about the rescue effort, and they all got plenty of info about how to take excellent care of rabbits. And Caleb’s smile lit up a hard working day!
It was a birthday party neither he nor the rabbits are likely to forget.
