IN AN URGENT TIME the caretaker of 5 ferrets needs to re-home her New Ipswich NH group.

To a permanent loving family who is ferret experienced.
The group of 5 needs to be placed together...
Saturday morning pick up is preferred, You will need pick-up or large empty van for the accomapmnying cage (critter nation double wide powder coated unit ) , also bring a cat carrier to transport ferrets .

The new owner will also receive a 17# bag of Marshalls Ferret Diet food.

the three ferrets of unknown ages were rescued and nursed back to health. Reggie is pictured with 3 yr old Bandit in photo.

Ferret Meet Up hosted by Ferret Wise Rescue - Rehab is scheduled for Sunday Feb. 15, 2009 from 2-4 PM in Keene, NH.

Ferret care takers or those interested in becoming ferret caretakers are invited to a public gathering in the food court of the Colony Mill Marketplace . Please RSVP for the Feb meeting to: ferretwise@ferretwise.org

I don't want my ferret today or HOW TO RE-HOME A FERRET

Finding an alternative to solution to over crowding at ferret rescues and shelters- One solution! Many folks obtain a ferret on impulse, this is not always the case but clearly folks who do not try to consider long term commitment are a huge contributor to the surge of ferrets sold from pet stores & retailers who end up with no place to go! What happens when the ferret you brought home 6 weeks ago, 6 months ago or 2 years ago is no longer welcome? The problem is there are few places to go for ferrets. In general SPCA, humane and ARL shelters do not accept them in - or do and otherwise deal with them ( euthanasia) rather than to continue care and adopt out. That leaves many small rescues to pick up the pieces and try their best to care and seek homes for a largely mis understood companion animal. Many states do not have restrictions on small rescues-- however when they try to place into families out of state a huge dilemma which deals with interstate transp

The photo above is from a recent education day at Boston Children's Museum where more than 400 folks met and petted the ferrets. During the event there were ongoing Q&A sessions about ferrets, and special coloring sheets to complete there or take home!

Events like these are crucial to teaching the public about these special animals and the proper care they require, however this hands on event comes with expense. Activities like this will be accomplished with funds raised through the PartyLite Virtual fundraiser.
