Animal Rights 2007 National Conference
July 19 - 23 Los Angeles CAAnimal Rights 2007 is one of the animal protection movement's major national conferences. It is a forum for sharing knowledge, reporting on progress, discussing strategies and tactics, networking, and "recharging our batteries."

Program FeaturesThe four-day program features nearly 100 presenters from more than 60 organizations representing all factions of our movement. They appear in eight Plenary Sessions, 50 Workshops, 30 Campaign Reports, and 7 Rap Sessions. Other program elements include Exhibits, Videos, Newcomer Orientation, Group Workouts, Strategy Meetings, Networking Receptions, Awards Banquet, and entertainment by animal rights musicians.
The program opens on Thursday, July 19, at 4pm with the Welcome Reception, followed by the Opening Plenary. It closes on Sunday evening, July 22, with the Awards Banquet and Closing Reception. Several groups are planning Post-Conference Activities, including intensive seminars and a demonstration, on Monday, July 23.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the daily schedule begins with a Group Workout at 7:30 or a swim in the pool. Workshops, Rap Sessions, and Campaign Reports run between 9am - 12noon and 1:30 - 5:30pm. The Plenary Sessions are scheduled between 7:20 - 9:30pm, leaving ample time to socialize and network during meals and the Networking Receptions.
Workshops Along Three Tracks: Issues, Organizing, RemediesThe workshops are configured along three tracks: Issues, Organizing,Remedies. The Issues track covers various types of animal abuses and the underlying issues. The Organizing track seeks to improve personal and organizational effectiveness. The Remedies track addresses campaign strategies and outreach to various constituencies. Rap Sessions and Campaign Reports engage participants in debates about controversial issues and current campaigns.
The Thursday plenary provides a history of our movement and reviews of recent progress and prospects in key areas. The Friday plenary focuses on a discussion of movement priorities and tactics as well as plans for nullifying the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act.
Journey from Compassion to ActionKey movement pioneers will describe their journey from compassion to action at the Saturday plenary. The Sunday Awards Banquet will feature winners of the Animal Rights Hall of Fame, Grassroots, Youth, and Celebrity Awards.
