How would you feel if you had been born outside and never had your own home? It's no wonder Bramble is a little shy. But maybe her run mate, the gentle and gracious Astra, is setting a good example, because Bramble's curious stare just radiates wanting to get to know you.

Still a little on the shy side, Bramble now willingly rolls over for belly rubs. Hey that's a start, Bramble. And she has a fierce bark that would drive a burgler away, something that could come in handy in a forever home, right? But don't let that intimidate you, she's really very easy going. She was born in 2005 so she has plenty of time to enjoy her first home. Could that home be with you?

If you feel you might be able to provide Bramble's first forever home, read more about special adoptions.

Hi pattycatty,

Guess what?!? Bramble is doing great as our HR office dog. She is soooo sweet and curious. She's friendly with everyone; albeit shy, she will often come up to visitors for affection and roll over for the belly rub. We love her so much. She's so easy going. That lazy ear is to die for and those eyes will melt your heart like butta'.

I think she's absolutely adorable. You'll have to take some photos of her showing off her clerical skills.

I had to privilege of meeting Bramble a couple of days ago. She was a little shy, but super sweet...even gave me a kiss! She appointed herself my official sweeping helper while I was cleaning her run. I also took her for a walk....she was a bit leary of that (since I was the only volunteer at the time, she had to go without her friends), but she decided it would be okay if we walked the trail in the reverse direction.

Bramble continues to visit the HR Office every Tuesday & Wednesday. She is doing great and seems to have a special liking for all of our male visitors. Last week Brian stopped by and Bramble went right up to him for pets, then flopped down in front of him and waited for a belly rub! We are also taking her out for lunchtime walks. One day last week however, we walked down the back road from the Village towards Cats. We got down to the bottom of the hill and Bramble decided that was far enough. She laid down in the middle of the road and wouldn't budge until I turned around and headed back up the hill towards our office! The next day we steered clear of the road and "hiked" through the sand - she seemed to prefer that much more!

This weekend my girlfriend and I took Bramble out for an outing in town. We had her for about two hours, and we took her to the park in Kanab, and for a walk around the area. We also went out for ice cream (and Bramble got her own treats). She liked riding in the car just fine, and she was very, very quiet. Not a peep out of her.

When it came time to walk, she seemed happy to walk around for the most part - tail not tucked in and walking with confidence. But she became reluctant to move a few times when kids were around, or sometimes just other people. She didn't have a problem with us though, and she was receptive to petting and affection.

The first picture is Bramble striking a pose for the camera, and the second picture was taken as we were checking her back in to Dogtown HQ on the way back to The Fairway.

Oh, yeah!!! She is such a sweetie. I hope this helps her out. Glad to hear she likes going to 'work'. I can hardly wait until we come back! Right now that's scheduled for November. Boy is that a long time away!

Miss Bramble has adapted quite well to her HR office gig. Today she attended a meeting with some really cool people from Cats in the HR office. She was a little stand-offish at first, but quickly warmed up and visited among the 12 of us meeting in a small area.

She goes to the car very easily when I pick her up in the mornings now. We used to do a little dance where Bramble would get so far and just decide she wasn't going any further. I expected she might start calling in sick from work or maybe she's fond of sit-ins. Of course, her civil disobedience never lasted for long and she would hop in the car - it just had to be when she was ready. Well, now she's ready and willing to go every day.

I don't know if I mentioned that the little stinker got out of the HR office one day (my fault) and wouldn't come to me when I called. On the outside I was calm, but freaking out on the inside. She didn't run away, she simply walked away and hung out around my car in the parking lot. That's when I got the idea that maybe she would get in the car if I opened the door. I casually walked over and opened the car door and she jumped in. Whew! Was I relieved that our girl loves to ride.

I don't have to tell you how much we love her. She is something else!

Wow Connie, talk about a heart-stopper. I would have been freaking as she strolled out the door. Glad you kept your wits about you and your car door loosely hinged.
