What can I say.... Jackson is a doll! Just look at that smile!!! Jackson came to us from Sage Canyon and he is quite possibly the cutest thing ever!!! Don't touch his feet though! He freaks out for some reason. We have to muzzle him for nail trimming. I've tried playing with his feet just to get him use to someone handling them. He still won't let me get close. Kind of funny actually!.... As soon as I go for the paw, he pulls away and darts to the other side of the run. He's starting to think its a game. Not exactly what I had in mind!

Anyway, Jackson is such a loving soul. He always has wags and kisses for everyone who comes to visit him. He does not get along with many male dogs, however he is quite fond of his run mate Desiree! Desiree does have to be the boss, but Jackson doesn't mind. He's a sucker for the ladies!

What a handsome boy!

SMILE!!!! -wag wag wag! :)

When Jackson moved to the Lodges, I took the liberty of copying over a post that I entered for him in Amra's forum. I hope no-one will mind if I do the same thing here:

In July, my wife and I had the great pleasure of taking Jackson for a sleepover. He was the perfect gentleman. He was friendly, funny, gentle, nice, playful, sweet, and affectionate. He was wonderful.

Jackson is also the absolute champ when it comes to riding in a car. Every time we took him somewhere, he hopped right in the back seat and laid down -- happy and alert and enjoying the ride, but perfectly, perfectly behaved. He didn't even jump up when we stopped and opened the door; he waited until we told him it was time to get out.

I wish some of my dogs would behave like that in a car.

I took Jackson for a walk near the cottages in the evening, and it turned out that one of the people who works in the gift shop saw us. The next day, she told me that Jackson was simply the most beautiful dog she had ever seen. I agreed. He's a magnificent creature.

At the restaurant in the evening, and at the coffee shop the next morning, Jackson was a perfect gentleman. He was so well behaved that we let everyone pat him, and everyone loved him.

Jackson does pull toward other dogs when he is on a leash, but it's not a problem. We just kept him separate from other dogs.

We couldn't have been prouder of Jackson. He was an absolute joy the whole time.

How is Jackson doing with his new run-mate these days?

Is his run-mate Carlie, whose topic I see here in the Fairway forum?

Jackson's run mate is Desiree, a very cute little Australian Shepherd mix.

After having a biopsy done on Jackson's nose, we've recently discovered that this sweet boy has an auto immune disease similar to Lupus. It causes him to have an extremely dry, cracked nose, and also causes dry patches on his skin from time to time. .....Not sure, but this could be why he does not want to go on long walks and does not like his feet touched: The pads of his feet may become painful due to his skin condition.

Good news: Jackson is now on medication to combat the disease. He will be on Tetracycline and Niacinamide for the rest of his life, but it will make his life much more enjoyable. And no more dry, painful nose!!! :)

Sweet Jackson, I'm pulling for you. I only met you briefly last year but knew immediately how wonderful you are.

My Walter pulled through a horrible case of Phemagus (spelling?? wrong) years ago and is doing just great.

You are the sweetest thing and I know you're family will find you soon.

How wonderful! I hope this good guy is up for spending time with two of the very best volunteers anywhere.

Jackson, you good dog, I remember that last year your nose looked uncomfortable and we asked your caregiver to apply sunscreen. It's good to hear that the veterinarians have identified the real problem. Here's hoping that you live a long, healthy life and that a wonderful adoptive family finds you.

Adam and I arrived Friday, and as promised, we requested to spend time with Jackson.  I had always wanted to meet him, as I'm a sucker for dogs with great grins!  Jackson is such a good natured dog.  He's easy going, very happy, and truly seems to enjoy life and the visitors that come to the Fairway.

Jackson came back to our cabin helped us unpack our suitcases.  Then we went on a short walk where Jackson looooooved to chase the lizards.

After all of that hub-bub, we all were pretty tired, so we laid down for a cuddle and a snooze.  Jackson just went with the flow, and loved to cuddle with us.  He is such a great dog, so sweet, and whoever adopts him is in for a treasure!

Oh yeah, and one of the absolute most endearing things about Jackson?  He has the BEST underbite I have ever seen!!!  If you spend some time with him, give him lots of kisses and loving, then peek under his lips and you will fall madly in love with him if you haven't already!
