What a sweet, shy boy!  You can read it all over his face ....."can I trust you?"  For those of you who know Chelsea, this is her brother Bacardi.  He is so reserved and docile.  Bless this little boys heart!  I can't imagine what he went through to make him so timid and left feeling vulnerable.  But he is beginning to warm up to his caregivers, and he LOVES going on walks with his runmates Aurora and Carla.  Soon we will be working him up to outings and sleepovers!

I just want to give him a big hug and tell him that everything will be ok.  He has the most pitiful eyes ever!

WOW.. Bacardi is just as beautiful as Chelse , what a sad face really makes you wonder {if they could only talk}  I pray he gets a family that will show him life can be good, in the meantime Jen give him x-tra hugs and kisses from Patty @ Chris- he is a special one and i haven't even met him yet, you can just tell sometimes.. Thanks

He's such a handsome boy. Love his curly tail.  From the Gap, perhaps?

Now that Bramble is settled into her foster home, Jen and Angie suggested we give Bacardi a try as our Wednesday office dog in HR.  He is really sweet and when he lets his tail fly, the end curls up like a cinnamon roll.  He is currently, quietly, exploring Bear's House.  He was a little hesitant getting into the car, but once Jen put him inside, he was fine.  We think he will fit in nicely.

Bacardi and Gemma (from Conrad and Leopold's) are our Wednesday office dogs.  Bacardi is shy, but warms up quickly, especially with Gemma, the social butterfly, here.  We took them for a walk this morning and they love to play while walking.  This is especially fun for Linda and me who play dueling leashes while they party on.

Bacardi is learning "leave it" as he has now decided that box shredding is one of his favorite office tasks.  He catches on quickly though.  Treats trump boxes anyday.

My husband and I met Bacardi during our Best Friends visit last week and we were honored to take him on his first sleepover!!  What a sweet boy!!  Unfortunately he is afraid of the camera, as you can see in Jen's adorable pictures above, so the picture is not very good (this is the best one we could get!!).

But Bacardi is a doll.  He loves to be petted and after a little coaxing (and a little lift), he slept curled up next to me on the bed all night long.  He startles very easily, but he is quick to recover.  He played with a toy for about a minute and was curious about things in the cottage - he has great potential and just needs more sleepovers so he can get lots more positive experiences with humans.

I'm glad to hear he is an office dog.  That will really help him a lot.

Oh my!  That picture is so awesome with his paw on your leg.  We are going to try to get Bacardi every day that Gemma is in the HR office, but we certainly don't want that to put him out of the running for sleepovers.  We can bring him back if someone wants a sleepover with him.

We think that Bacardi and Gemma have a bit of a crush on each other.  They play and rub noses.  He follows her around the office.  It's puppy love.

Awwww.  I'd love to see a picture of him and Gemma!   I would think it will do him a lot of good to be in an office with people all day.  He has so much potential and seems so close to coming out of his shell completely.  I think he can learn a lot being with you guys.  I'm sure Jen and Angie will not forget about him when people ask about sleepovers.

Is Gemma a Best Friends dog?

Yes, Gemma is a Best Friends dog.  She is in her foster home now with Linda, so she comes to work in HR with her Foster mom each day.  She lived at Conrad and Leopolds.

Bacardi came to visit today as he and Gemma have become great pals.  Linda & I  walked them down to Angel's Landing and back at lunch and they had such a good time.  Bacardi kept nuzzling Gemma on the way back - I think they are in love!  Bacardi is becoming MUCH more relaxed with us in the office.  He does the rounds and checks in on all of us periodically, giving us that look that just begs for a neck scratching or a treat!
