Community Servive as an Alternative to Suspension
A ninth grade vice principal at Old Bridge High School in New Jersey has found an alternative to suspending some students by having them do community service.

What a wonderful idea! I wish all schools would pick up on this. I remember when I was in high school, being suspended for some kids wasnt such a bad thing..they got to stay at home! I think learning to appriciate the elderly or animals is a great thing for them to learn at an early age.

Great idea! They could work with soup kitchens for the homeless, or homeless animals, and receive a real lesson in appreciation for what they have, including the opportunity for a good education at school. Many students with challenges connect with homeless animals, and are forever changed.
