URGENT - PLEASE ACT TODAY (please forward)

A vote on the Los Angeles declawing ban will take place Friday morning, Nov. 6, 2009 at City Hall (if you think you can attend the meeting, please reply to this message)

TODAY the Los Angeles City Council's Public Safety Committee voted unanimously to recommend to draft an ordinance banning the practice of declawing, saying the procedure caused “unnecessary pain, anguish and permanent disability” to cats.

Messages of support would be very helpful and should be sent to the Mayor Councilmembers immediately. Phone calls are also effective: every call counts as 115 votes and legislators who are undecided are tallying votes. Please write, phone, fax, or e-mail.
