Volunteers Bathe 60-70 Dogs
60-70 Dogs Bathed in Preparation for Westchester Super AdoptionOn Saturday, April 25, approximately 25 Best Friends volunteers headed out to 5 LA City shelters and the Baldwin Park County shelter to bathe dogs in preparation for the Westchester Super Adoption. Working closely with LAAS and LA County volunteers, they were able to bathe between 60 and 70 dogs, greatly improving their chances of adoption. Several dogs were even adopted that very day, right out of the grooming room!
Because there was such a good turnout of volunteers, the dogs were able to have a walk before and after their baths, allowing them time to burn off some energy and get a bit of exercise. Then it was into the grooming room for a good brushing and a bath that left them shiny and clean. One of the dogs, Snoopy, needed some extra TLC, and 3 dedicated volunteers worked for over an hour pulling more than 70 ticks from the patient little guy.
The Shelters were very impressed with all the volunteers hard work and dedication and have asked the Brigade to come back soon to help groom and bathe more dogs. Way to go!!
