In this workshop, Jill Buckley, Esq. from the ASPCA, teaches us how to identify common liability issues and develop preventive measures to protect your organization from financial ruin. Can you adopt a dog with a bite history? Can you implement foster programs, off-site adoption events, pet therapy, dog obedience training, and other programs if you’re concerned about liability? Do you have adequate insurance coverage to protect your organization if something happened? Risk management involves assessing the potential dangers that exist at your shelter and determining whether you have taken enough reasonable precautions to protect people from harm.
