Parade Magazine running poll on pit bull ban

Cast your vote today and voice your opinion that owning pit bulls should not be illegal!

Parade Magazine is running a poll entitled “Preventing Fatal Dog Attacks” that asks if it should be illegal to own a pit bull.

Best Friends opposes canine profiling as it does not reduce dog bite incidents nor effectively manages dangerous dogs. Rather than breed-discriminatory restrictions, legislators should enact dangerous dog/reckless owner laws that protect innocent dogs and responsible owners.

Geez Will it never end? We need to prosecute the irrresponsible owners... My pitty is the sweetest, most gentle soul I have ever had in my family..

Glad you picked this up. I posted it in the forum and have been posting it everywhere I can. There has been excellent response and the poll continues to be strong on the NO side at 78% NO and 22% yes. If we could only get the legislatures around the country to recognize this as what people really want.

Prosecute the owners don't punish the poor dog that has no choice. Does any sane person believe these dogs want to fight to the death, be chained and left in their own filth, starved and left with no medical care? Until police start thinking of this as cruel and not just a sport it will continue. How come people that engage in this sport don't have their children taken away from them? Aren't they terrible parents?
