If you are in the Port Orchard area and can help, please keep reading!

Ozzie was a rescue puppy from the Humane Society. His owner, my aunt, died tragically at age 53 last month, and was a lifelong animal lover. We are trying to place her animals for her as her widower is unable to care for them all.

Oz is a great dane mix and he is quite a character. He has a personality that you don't find in dogs very often. He simply loves everyone and everything about life. He is big, but gentle, and would love to be a lap dog if he could fit.

He is five years old, neutered and in excellent health. He does have mild hip dysplasia but does well with rimadyl or tramadol when in discomfort. He also has a big appetite!

He LOVES kids and will stay right by their side as long as they are around. He loves to play and he too loves the water. He dives for rocks and swims long distances to retrieve tennis balls.

He occasionally has a problem with a dominant male dog who tries to challenge him but usually gently takes them down and holds them there for a minute. Once he has done that he just ignores them and they don't try to challenge him again. He does not like yelling or aggressive people, it frightens him and he cowers away.
He loves kids of all ages but also does well with just an adult. His most recent foster family has two small dogs and two cats. He occassionaly chased the older cat for the sport of it, so he may need to be watched or trained on how to be near cats.

If you have a home for Oz or can help in any way, please contact my aunt's husband, Bob, at bob@networktacoma.org or 253-208-6664. You can also contact me at kim@mcdanieldesk.com. I live in Utah but know quite a bit about Oz and am taking the lead to get him a good home as my aunt would have wanted.

Thanks for reading!

Just a few ideas and perhaps you may have already exhausted them.

Would it be possible to contact all of the families you found to adopt previous felines and see if they may be able to help you find homes for them since there too are animal lovers? Maybe they can foster some for awhile?

Are you on facebook where you can socially spread the word or have others in your area do so for you?

What is the closest no kill shelter to you? Perhaps call them and see if you can get someone to deliver to them?

Take care.

I am running out of time and unless I can get her a home soon I will just have to take her to my local animal shelter. She is listed with the R.E.D web site and they say they have called the Kitsap Humane Society to notify them that should I take Sabre in to them, that she is R.E.D listed and to take care of her, i.e. not put her to sleep.

She is such an adorable dog, so loving and friendly, so I am surprised nobody has fallen in love with her just by looking at her picture. I guess not many people want a 5 year old dog anymore, they want cute little puppies. It's so not fair for Sabre when she would give unconditional love and protection to anyone.

But thank you for asking, and I pray every day that I will be able to find Sabre a 'forever' home, with people who will love her as I do, and offer a safe and comfortable home.

I have two female tuxedo short hair domestic 18 year old female cats. They are sisters born on the 4th of July. I grew up with dogs so these the first cats that have ever been a special part of my life. I asked my ex for a dog and he brought home two beatiful little kitties. It was the worst thing to come home find see blood all by the litter boxes. I didn't know which one was sick but I sort of suspected that it was Lady because she has lost weight over the last few months. I know she is 18 years old and has lived a long life but is so hard to deal with the fact that she is dying. This is someone who has been a part of my life for 18 years. So, I cleaned up the blood and immediately checked both cats. I watched them all night. I slept on the floor next to Lady and my other cat Fergie came out from the bedroom to sleep with us on the living room floor. I have no children so this really hard for me. I brought into the vet the next morning and Lady seemed actually relieved to be going the vet. It was so hard for me to walk into the vet with her so my Mom and stepfather came with me. She only weighs 5 pounds and has the biggest green eyes. She was poked and prodded and the very kind vet told me he didn't think she had a tumor or is blocked but he would like to take some blood samples and urine samples which they did. Pathlogy reports came back inclusive on her with respect to cell irregularity. So, yesterday, the vet called me to tell me that she has kidney disease and a hyperactive thryoid which given her age is to be expected. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her hydrated and have x-rays done. I knew this day would come but it's so hard to watch someone you love so much hurt. I watch her strain at the litter box. They found blood in her urine. The doctor gave her an antibiotic and thryoid medicine. She is eating. I made her a steak and cut it up and she ate it. But I am so distraught right now. My best friend is dying and hurts so much. I loved my cats so much I would heat up a blanket every morning and give them the world. But her twilight years are coming to an end and I am not ready to let her go but I don't want to see her suffer because Iove her so much.

Desperate plea for help!

Hi, my name is MacKenzie and my beloved dog Sabre is in desperate need. My husband passed away, I haven't been able to find another job and we are about to be evicted from our home, and so I decided the only thing to do was return to Australia, where I am originally from

Unfortunately with no income and no resources, I have no way of affording the cost involved with taking Sabre with me, and that breaks my heart. I cry every day, each time she lays beside me with her head on my lap, and she gives me such a look of unconditional love that I start bawling all over again.

I dread the thought of sending her to the local animal shelter, because I don't feel they would be caring enough to find her a GREAT home, with someone who will love her as much as I do, and if after a certain number of days she hasn't found a home, they put animals to sleep. Sabre deserves so much more. She is only 5 years old, SharPei/Shepherd with the most loving and friendly disposition. She has been an indoor dog all her life and I'm not ashamed to say that I have spoiled her by letting her sleep on the bed with me. As I said 'she is my baby.

What we DESPERATELY need, is someone with a good heart and a lot of compassion who may be able to help me raise the funds to take her back to Australia with me, or else be able to provide a no-kill facility for her to go to. Either that or be able to provide her with a perfect loving home, where someone will take care of her always and no just discard her when they get bored. Well screened prospective parents would be idea.

I hate the idea of leaving her behind, and if there was any way I could take her with me, that would be my first choice, but with being without a husband, a job and soon to be without my home I don't know have any family here to help me, so it's just the two of us.

Can anyone PLEASE help us???

Lost female rottweiler

6 year old female rottweiler, altered, 140 pounds. Try to reassure her as much as possible without rewarding bad behavior (ie try and find times when she is behaving "normally" and praise heavy). The major thing to establish between the two of you if she is ever to get better is trust. This can't happen if you're constantly second-guessing her, as trust is usually a two-way street and no one is better at sensing emotions and feelings than a dog! That is what makes them such great companions but can make them a little more difficult to train.

You may also want to consider taking her to the vets and seeing if they have any suggestions for her. It could be pain related or they may be able to suggest a trainer for you. Muzzle on, the best thing that you can do for her is expose her to many different things and prove to her that the unknown can be great! So long as her owners at her side, nothing will harm her.

Also, there are bach flower remedies that may be able to relieve some of her anxiety. It works wonders with some animals, and then others aren't phased at all.

Please, go with your heart on this one!!! No dog is disposable. Have you tried asking your trainer for suggestions on how to handle her until she recovers? Good luck and thanks for rescuing the girl! I have a fear motivated aggressive rottie myself, and although she still has some men issues, she is amazingly better than she first was. Granted, it's taken eight years and it's still sometimes a challenge, but believe me she is more than worth it.

RE: Forever home needed for Monkey

Forever home found!!!!
