Greyhounds come in a large variety of colors - but to celebrate the warm colors of Autumn Northern Greyhound Adoptions is showcasing our warm colored hounds, like the Fawns and Red Brindles!
The most common words you will hear to describe a Greyhound's personality are "sweet" and "gentle" - they have been bred for thousands of years to happily work with their humans and that long standing close relationship has made them a very biddable and good-natured breed. For a "large" breed Greyhounds are quite long-lived, with an average life span of 12-14 years.
Nixon is such a handsome good natured boy - a stunner with a lot of chacter and that wonderful Greyhound calmness!
Nixon is one of the many retired racing Greyhound we have currently at the rescue kennel. You can see more of them at NorthernGreyhoundAdoptions.org. There you can also read more about Greyhounds and find links to further information about the breed.
Greyhounds don't ask for much - just a loving individual or family willing to provide a gentle touch, a caring pat, and a soft, loving voice to offer affirmation. All they want and need is someone to give them the love they so richly deserve.
