Bryce Canyon National Park kitten needs home

We trapped a very cute, dark brown kitten at Bryce Canyon and had him neutered...now he needs a new home. The kitten is in that "in-between" stage of being feral and tame. I think he has real potential to be a great pet, but he's starting to turn into a "container" kitten because I don't have a good place to let him roam and I live on a busy street so don't want to release him outside. Garfield county has no animal shelter options so we're trying all our avenues to place this little guy. Please contact me if you're interested in adopting this unique souvenir from the park!

I’m a beautiful, stout, senior, (silvering :) black lab-hound who will show continuous appreciation for a caring family or friend with a yard or regular visits to the park! I do well in an apartment or a house... i have lived in both!

I’m a super counter-surfer & I LOVE to keep the couch or bed warm when no one is home.

I am fantastic with children of all ages, I’m a wonderful balance of energetic & gentle.

I give the fun illusion of being a great guard dog: VERY excitable when strangers knock on the door-- intimidating bark, but have never backed it up. Truth be told, i cower at the slightest sign of aggression, I can be quite timid and can seem sad when i am reminded of scary memories of my puppy-hood.

I pride myself on my best features when I am told what a good girl I am!

Please respond if you would like to adopt me from my current 'pack' who will miss me very much! (One of my favorite pack members is in the photo with me... on our way to a winter outing.)

Mother and Daughter need loving home.

Daisy is the mother. She is 11 1/2 years old and is healthy. Lexi, daughter, has recenlty been diagnosed with diabetes. They both have been living over at my Mother's. She recently got married in April and was not able to take them with her. They still reside at her old residence. They need a family that will be able to give them alot more attention then we can provide them. My Mother goes over on her lunch and feeds and waters them. That is about all the interaction they are able to receive now. I work and my husband works two part time jobs and is going to school. We are a low income family of four. If we had the time and money we would love to keep them and give them everything they need. However, we are not able to do just that. That is why I am reaching out to you to help find a home for them both. A home that has the time, energy, money, and love to give to them. Lexi needs a shot morning and night. She also needs someone to kind of keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't go in to shock or anything. That is something that I am concerned about. Nobody will be around and it really worries me. If you know of anyone that can help please let me know. These two beautys are very loving. Lexi is a golden lab, irish setter, and golden retriever. Daisy is a irish setter and golden retriever. This is determined locally. I would also check on county regulations that may supercede others. In Maricopa county (AZ), there is no set limit on the number of dogs you have as long as they are well cared for and kept in humane conditions. Also providing they do not create a nuisance. As the 2nd largest county for owner turn-ins nationally, the priority is placing animals in good environments and keeping them off the euthanisia lists.

We contacted our local sheriffs department and they recommend a kennel license if you have more than 10 dogs. This can be a good or a bad thing, but more people are adopting additional pets where they would have only had 1 or 2 previously.

Start with your local animal control to verify local regulations. Depending on where you live within the regulations, the number can sometimes differ. If you live in an area that is stuck at 2 registered dogs, consider working with an organization that is working on changing the number. Also, join a rescue group as a volunteer foster parent. Most rescues are always in need of good foster homes. These dogs would remain as the rescue's dogs until adopted and (in most cases) would not be counted as your 2 allowed dogs.

Gathering Support for Dog Park in Layton, UT

I am in the process of gathering support for the creation of an off-leash dog park in Layton, UT. I have been communicating with the current city council and the candidates running this election. Right now it appears that the best supporters of the park will be mayoral candidate Bob Stevenson and council candidate Adam Gardiner.

Help Save Hero!

Hi! I'm Hero!

I'm only 4 years old and I've had a rough life.

I was badly abused and then abandoned on the streets to die. I lived under a porch, and survived (barely) by eating bread. I got frostbite on my ears and paws. Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, someone trapped me and took me to Animal Services. I caught a really bad infection there, and they put me on Death Row!

Fortunately, some very kind people rescued me, nursed me back to health, and I became a beautiful, shiny cat. It was heaven!

Now, however, I have a very nasty kind of cancer called lymphoblastic lymphoma. My people took me to the vet and I'm getting medicine. But it costs $1000 a month for my treatments and my people don't have that much money. They're both sick too and aren't able to work.

I am very grateful for the time I've had with my people and I don't want to leave just yet. Will you please help my people to help me? Any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Sweet FeLV positive kitty needs home!

I'm trying to find a home for a cat with feline leukemia. He's gray with white socks, and about seven months old. He's very calm and sweet, and loves to snuggle on your lap and purr. He's still very healthy, with no symptoms, and would make a wonderful pet.

I adopted him a week ago, and just found out he's FeLV positive yesterday. I have another cat I don't want to be infected, which is why I'm looking for someone to take him.

Many cities have high dog limits, for example in West Jordan, I think you can legally own and register four or five. some municipalities will allow for a foster permit, rescue permit, or hobby permit. you can go online to see what your city code is and if there are permits to find your way around it. For example, Salt lake county will allow a 3rd family dog so long as it is a rescue. In the city limits the third can be a foster or having a foster permit. some people just permanently 'foster' i guess :) Ask you animal control or look at your city's laws online.

I live in Roy, Utah and we have a law that states only 2 dogs per household. I love dogs and I have a good 5 bedroom house and I would love more. Seems I could have 8 kids and not be able to feed them, but not more than 2 dogs? My dogs see the vet regularily and they want for nothing. I have been watching Dog Town and reading their books.. They send their adoptable dogs to live with people that already have 2 dogs or in one case, a family that already has 8 dogs! How do these people get the permission to have more than 2 dogs? Dogs are such a joy to me and if anybody can give me an answer I would appreciate it.

The St George Shelter in Utah has 2 senior dogs right now who would love to get out and find homes.

Rocky's owner moved and was not able to take him with her, so he is at the shelter waiting for a new home. Please come give Rocky a chance! Rocky is 9 yrs old.

Molly came to the shelter when her owner was no longer able to keep her. She's got a sweet personality and would love to go home with a new family to love! Molly is 12 yrs old, and is spayed.

I really have a hard time when I hear folks that want to adopt a purebred that is supposedly "perfect". You can almost feel the "thank yous" that special needs animals give you!

Special needs kitty needs home

Last weekend my husband and I were taking a walk and found a kitty with neurological problems out on the street, and very skinny. I talked with a neighbor who said the cat belonged to no one and had just shown up and asked us if we'd take him. So, of course, we did.

Wabi Sabi is a gorgeous, long-haired mostly white cat with unusual tabby markings. He's very elegant, social, affectionate, and well-mannered. He's shaky and wobbly, but can walk and jump, and so far uses his litter pan perfectly, and actually asked for something to scratch. He's a bit of a finicky eater, but that may be stress. He loves attention and sitting on my lap and purring.

He's neutered, and yesterday he got his shots. He's FIV and FeLeu negative and his blood work was normal.

I adore him, but my house is not safe for a neuro kitty, so the poor guy is living in a cage in my shed, which just breaks my heart. I spend as much time with him as I can, but it's not enough.

Wabi Sabi would love a forever home of his very own where he can return to being his pampered self. He's currently in Salt Lake City, but we'll arrange transport if necessary.
