Local SC Animal Rescue Needs Legal HELP NOW! PLEASE HELP!

It is with a heavy heart that I report the Loving Home Rescue and Adoption was shut down on Monday by Animal Control, who seized ALL of the animals, based on complaints from a so-called volunteer (a long story, BUT LET’S JUST SAY THE COMPLAINTS WERE UNFOUNDED).

Many of the animals they took are disabled, or seniors with medical conditions and we worry that they will not survive the stress of being misplaced. We also worry that they will be euthanized, because the cats they took on Friday were all killed, even though we were told they would be treated.

We urge anyone reading this to PLEASE OPEN YOUR HEARTS AND HOMES to the animals that were abruptly seized. CALL THE HUMANE SOCIETY and voice your opinion on their actions. URGE them to return the animals or place them in a loving home where they will get the loving care they deserve and not killed because they are not the cute little puppies and kittens that everyone wants to take home.

For example, Levi (our one-eyed lab-mix beauty) and Prancer ( a blind Whippet) -both pictured above have special needs and NEW puppies and we hope they will not be killed!

Schotzie, an almost fully blind 17-year-old cocker spaniel was taken and to lock him up will kill him, as he needs to constantly move around.

Then there's Worrie, a sweet 17-year-old senior who can't sleep on the hard floor (she has her own Lazy Boy chair), and knows that if she has to go outside, all she needs to do is bark and she will be taken care of.

Mr. McKnight wants to fight their allegations in a court of law in front of a jury of his peers, and is currently seeking aggressive legal counsel. However, lawyers are costly, something a non-profit 501.3c, NO KILL animal rescue operated by a disabled VET does not have the funds for. If you know ANYONE who can help with his case, PLEASE pass this information along to them and have them contact Mr. McKnight immediately!

In the short amount of time I have been volunteering for Mr. McKnight's rescue, I have seen dozens of animals all cared for very well! He loves each of them like they are his own. Being a huge animal lover, if I thought for a second any of the animals in his rescue were being mistreated or not well taken care of, I would be the first to speak up and I would not shut up until the issues were resolved!

PLEASE spread the word about this awful situation and help in any way you can!

Rest Area Kitty

I'm from Florida and was traveling home on Tuesday through SC on I--85 South. At the rest area just north of Exit 22 there was a young black cat wandering around. He looked lost and hungry, but he would not let anyone approach him. If anyone is in that area and can check it out, maybe he can be picked up and taken care of. Thanks.

We have a 2 year old female boxer/lab mix. we had her, since she was a puppy. we also have a 11year old female heeler mix. we working for 2 years now with the 2 year old on her aggressive behavior towards the older female. two days ago, it got so bad, that she attacked the older female very badly. the older female had to have her toe removed and is in very bad shape at the moment. she is traumatized of course and afraid to move around in the house.

we also have a 5year old male dog. the 2 year old gets along just fine with the male and dogs in a dog park, also she had never issues being around kids any ages.

i need to find a home for the boxer mix asap. we really tried everything possible. right now she is all day in the kennel and these is not a life for a dog.

please please if you can help...... know somebody who can take her etc. let me know. it is really urgent.

This is a short note .....but wanted to share the GREAT NEWS!!!

Our little NYLA has been adopted. We can not thank everyone enough for all the support, guidance and networking. Nyla is with her new family and is placed in a home that will be perfect for her on going rehab and continued care.

Nyla is a special puppy living in Florida but know that transport will be arranged for her to be with her new

family when they are found. She has been with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida for 5 of her 7 months

and has taught us a lot about love, determination and life. Nyla has stiffness in her back legs and hips and

with therapy she is doing wonderful. She may look a little different physically, but she is absolutely no

different than any other loving playful puppy. She is completely independent and requires no assistance to

function like a normal puppy. Nyla can swim, run and play. She is a "lap lab" as she is smaller than a

pocket lab (about 35 lbs) and fits perfectly on you lap. She has been around children and cats and has

passed with flying colors. Nyla is very mellow and would do just fine with a family in a condo because of

her small size. Nyla is house trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. She is not a chewer and

is out of the early puppy phase behaviors. Nyla is one of the sweetest labs we have ever had the

opportunity to meet, learn from and love. Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida would be more than willing

ANYBODY have contacts in the Supply South Carolina area? We have a GSD that we are trying to get transported before he is PTS. The shelter is saying he will be PTS Saturday as they are full. He is a good boy just needs out and a 90 minute ride to his new rescue. Bubba is a Boxer mix who's 18 months old. He's been at the Frances R. Willis SPCA once before and is now back at the shelter. He's gentle and can get along well with other dogs, but can be a little possessive of his toys. He's neutered too.

Working together for South Carolina animals : Lucy needs therapy to save her leg

Lucy is a Plott Hound/Mountain Cur Mix, she is around 2 years old she was abandoned and starving.
We took her to a vet to have her checked out, noticing she was carrying her right hind leg, her X-ray showed there wasn't any broken bones or any thing out of place, the vet thought that it must be a old injury.
We found out she was 3 weeks pregnant with 9 pups when she was spayed. She is UTD on all shots and has been on monthly heart worm preventive since Feb. She had a mild positive for heart worms on her test.
Getting back to her leg, we feel with some therapy she could be taught to use her leg again. This is why we are working so hard to get her into a rescue where she could get the help/therapy needed to possible save her leg.
She is being fostered by a member of the Southern Animal Welfare League which is temporary since they are not a rescue and have no facilities to house animals long term.
If you can help Lucy or know of some one out of state who can help please cross post, we can arrange transport.

All of these are dog and kid friendly, PLEASE help!!!! there are still 25 pits on hold for court and only 21 cages open, so you can imagine the dying that will be going on, I have 20 here at my house I'm holding for transport on June 14th so I can't hold anymore I'm begging!!!
