While the Animal Control Solutions employees were found not guilty in the criminal courts, there is still a civil suit against them. I was forwarded a link to a site where donations can be made to the Barceloneta Litigation Expense Fund, http://www.barcelonetapets.com/. While I've read that the lawyers are donating their services, there are other costs associated with the case.

I do not see anywhere on the site that they are a non-profit, so believe that any gifts are not tax deductible.

The cat colonies of Old San Juan in Puerto Rico are in danger. Despite organizations such as Save a Gato working hard to practice TNR (trap, neuter, and return), there is now a risk of a "removal" of the felines.

Please voice your opposition to this inhumane method of animal control.

Sign this petition and support the Puerto Rico and other Caribbean animal welfare organizations .

Please also voice your opinion to the Puerto Rico Department of Health, who recommended the capture of the cats:

So you have a little special friend who needs some help. Firstly: THANK YOU. You have come to the right place. To make sure the animal gets the very best chance of an adoption please follow these steps!

1. Read & follow the how-to information at How to Find Homes for Homeless Pets in the Best Friends Resource Library: http://network.bestfriends.org/Library/

2. Please make each animal a new topic so we may track the amount of animals that need our help.
It will also make sure that you can have a picture for each animal. Please do that if its possible. A picture is worth a thousand words.
You may also want to post at The Adoption Spot (http://network.bestfriends.org/adoptionspot/news).

3. Let us know the fate of the animal! If they get a home, if they are still waiting after 6 months, if they need transport, ANYTHING. We want to know. Keep us updated so we can make sure a forever home is the final outcome!
