Francis Battista gives insight into the melee

Tongues wag at Michael Vick getting signed to the Eagles, while Best Friends keeps the focus on a solution for the victims. The organization that opened their arms to 22 of the Vick dogs - now Vicktory dogs, wants the public to keep the dogs in need at the forefront of this discussion.

Best Friends is hoping to launch Wagging Tailgate Parties across the country in conjunction with the Eagles game schedule. Partnering with local rescues across America, the plan is to have fun adoption events to get pit bulls and their mixes into loving homes. There will also be an emphasis on education and awareness in this community driven blockparty type atmosphere.

Wonderful article by Mr. Battista! I agree--I hope the Humane Society's gamble pays off--I have yet to see any real remorse from Mr. Vick!!! Sarah

Shame on the NFL and shame on the Eagles for reinstating Vick. If he were truly remorseful, he would not need " handlers" to tell him what to say, and how to say it. He would be able to speak from the heart. Which he cannot do. I am currently boycotting all the sponsors of the Eagles, that I can, until Vick is off the team.

I think the biggest point made in the article is Mr. Vick's total lack of quiet and sincere volunteering to prove that he has really reformed. Without it, he's a PR machine who cares about little except his own gain. That's why I think the NFL really dropped the ball (pun intended).

I think we can't believe on him, because he can do everything again. He is sick, and can do it to people too.
