As with many other people, I find myself having to re-home my two cats due to financial issues in this economy. They are sisters, four years old, up to date on all shots, spayed, and house trained. If any one can help, I would be eternally grateful. This is my last resort before I am forced to take them to Lied. They can be adopted seperately, if needed.

See I can never find anyone to help.. :( As much as I have done my whole life to rescue animals, as much as I have fostered kittens for rescue places and they cant even return my emails or phone calls. Wow.. I knwo everyone is over whelmed but dang. Thanks for the help when I need it. I dont know whats going to happen to these cats but I need them outta here by Sunday. You know, I am NEVER rescuing cats ever again in my life. I can't be stuck with a bunchof cats again. I have done enough in my life and i'm completely through. You know most of the rescue organizations I contacted didn't even have enough balls to contact me back. Just like I got no response here.. I am not surprised.. Have a great day,!

I am moving out of the country and cannot take Honey with me. Honey is a 1 1/2 year old Basenji mix. She is very loving and loyal, loves to snuggle and steal most of the bed, lol. I currently live in Las Vegas. I have looked into taking her with me but both options are not fair to her, one of which is quarantine. If anyone is interested, or knows someone who is, please let me know.

I realize that I'm seeing this late (very late, 2009) Do you know what happened to these kitties that were at the El Capitan Mobile Home Park? My mother lived there and used to feed the strays. She passed away in 2001. I was wondering what happened to the kitties and people that used to live there. It was a fairly nice place when my mom lived there and the people were very nice.

Hello, my name is Stephenie. I have been helping cats since I was a teenager and used to foster for lied before it moved into the large building. I have since rescued every needy cat/ dog I have seen that was starving, homeless or abandonded in the desert. I have since run into a problem with my moms neighborhood. There are stray cats everywhere multiplying like crazy. The lady that lives with my mom feeds them. I have rescued a few of the litters from the backyard and have found new homes for 14 or more of them. I have 1 mom with 3 kittens and another mom with 4 kittens, as well as two young unneutered males here at my house that are all civilised and have been worked with to love people. 1 mom is a bit skittish around movement, but will come up to you for loving. I planned on trying to get the males fixed and the kittens, moms and males all into new homes. But I jsut lost my job right after finding out that I have to move out of our house. I have nowhere to put these cats. I need someone to take them in and finish the job I started with them by finding them homes and getting them fixed. They are not hard to adopt out colors either, they are orange tabbies, tabby and tortoise shell. I just have run out of resources and I am running out of time. Can you or anyone please take these cats in? I do not want to have to take them to lied to be put down after working with them :(

I am just now reading your message (2009) I don't know if you will get this message or not, but your message upsets me. My mother lived in El Capitan mobile home park and fed the ferals that lived there until her death in 2001. Her cats came from the colony there. Could you tell me if the cats were taken care of? I guess this upsets me on two levels - the park was nice, and I wonder if these were any of the cats that my mother took care of. If you get this message, please email me at niftycat@msn.com.

Smokey is an active and healthy 6-years-young Chow/Shepherd/Rotti mix. He has been with 11th Hour Rescue for over 2 years. He is currently at our shelter, but is occasionally fostered by a volunteer with 6 other dogs. If you want a buddy for your dogs, Smokey’s the best! Smokey LOVES other dogs (he knows to be gentle with smaller ones) and is great with his foster parents, however he has “guarding issues”. Trying to “protect” his home and owners has lead to biting. He has NEVER gone after his fosterers and trusts them 100%. His caregiver can take food away from him; check his teeth, paws, mouth; give him a bath…pretty much handle him however they want. He is also crate-trained and housebroken.

Smokey is a “big puppy” who lives to play with and meet new dogs. Yard time is fun time for Smokey! His wariness about trusting people stems from low self-esteem and past abandonment. He does not show outwardly aggressive body language when nervous, which means that he would require a dog savvy home. Once Smokey bonds with you, he would never go after you – and he bonds quickly. His forever family would increase his confidence and trust as a “nervous aggression” dog. Someone who knows when company visits, he must be crated or put in another room to avoid the “guarding” behavior.

He is a great dog that deserves a chance at having a loving home, because he has so much love and loyalty to give to you!

Smokey is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

Dear Friends,
Last Sunday Catty (nee Katya) passed away from breast cancer that had spread quickly and to her liver.
Liz cared for Catty and provided her with the gentlest, most loving home any feline (canines too) could ever wish for.
After moving in with Liz, Catty was shy for about a minute. On day two she asserted herself and emerged as the uber cat amongst all of Lizzie's other feline babies. Catty even claimed "her" chair communicating to all that it was a "do not even think about sitting here" zone.
Miss Catty was so very loved for the last two years of her life solely because of Lizzie's open arms. She saved this terrified feline and invited her into her home unconditionally and without hesitation.
Catty lived each and every one of her nine lives. Liz remains a wonderful steward to many feline and canine babies, all of whom have been adopted or rescued.
Liz is and remains, my hero.
I send heartfelt gratitude and love to each of you who supported Catty during a horribly dark time.

my name is mac and i lost my job and had to move in with my friend and his wife. their appartment complex won't allow dogs. i have two small dogs(harry is bishon/puddle mix 11 years male and nikki is mini schnouzer 10 years female and both are fixed). i will be working within next 30 days. i don't want to give my dogs away or to the shelter but i desperatley need foster home for my dogs for 30 days or less. my phone #s are:702-476-4546 and cell: 951-375-7393.please help me if you can. thank you and god bless you. they weight about 20 and 25 lbs. mac/harrynikki
