This transport is for a wonderful dog named Bo. He is a big, black dog, which we all know how well they do in kill facilities! He is a black shepherd AND is heartworm positive, and he would really like to hitch a ride to his rescue in Madison, WI.

Also hitching a ride is Dallas, who is coming to his prescreened, preapproved FOREVER HOME!! He will be hopping on in Madison and coming to Minneapolis, MN.

**Please note: the transport coordinator reserves the right to add additional passengers to this transport after consulting with the drivers, and to add additional drivers if needed.**

All passengers will be traveling with a health certificate, rabies vaccine certificate and any other vet paperwork.

Smokey is an active and healthy 6-years-young Chow/Shepherd/Rotti mix. He has been with 11th Hour Rescue for over 2 years. He is currently at our shelter, but is occasionally fostered by a volunteer with 6 other dogs. If you want a buddy for your dogs, Smokey’s the best! Smokey LOVES other dogs (he knows to be gentle with smaller ones) and is great with his foster parents, however he has “guarding issues”. Trying to “protect” his home and owners has lead to biting. He has NEVER gone after his fosterers and trusts them 100%. His caregiver can take food away from him; check his teeth, paws, mouth; give him a bath…pretty much handle him however they want. He is also crate-trained and housebroken.

Smokey is a “big puppy” who lives to play with and meet new dogs. Yard time is fun time for Smokey! His wariness about trusting people stems from low self-esteem and past abandonment. He does not show outwardly aggressive body language when nervous, which means that he would require a dog savvy home. Once Smokey bonds with you, he would never go after you – and he bonds quickly. His forever family would increase his confidence and trust as a “nervous aggression” dog. Someone who knows when company visits, he must be crated or put in another room to avoid the “guarding” behavior.

He is a great dog that deserves a chance at having a loving home, because he has so much love and loyalty to give to you!

Smokey is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations.

His name is Boomer, and he is a male 2 years old.

The have been wolf sightings in the area where he was lost, so his family is very worried.

I just want to give a heads up that we are going to have a major flood in Fargo Moorhead this week. Our major flood stage is 30-31 feet, and it looks like our Red River will be at 40-41 feet on Friday.

I am fine, live on the highest plane (around 44 ft) and have made a plan for my dog and cat just in case.

However, this might become a major story later this week in the national news and I really fear for a lot of the pets living in lower flood zones.

Many in Fargo's south neighborhood live in 20-25 ft flood stage land, so they will not only have water, but may be submerged up to first or second floor if their diking breaks.

We will do what we can, but there may be a call for help. Please consider us in your prayers.

Hello all,
I recently was traveling home this Sunday and saw a dog in the ditch on the interstate, outside of Chamberlain, South Dakota she was more then ready to be rescued, had no collar, or microchip and I have checked the lost dog postings in the area and even neighboring states with no luck. It appears she has been dumped. She is currently being seperated from my dogs as it appears she may not get along well with other dogs, she is just really scared around dogs and everyone in general still, so I think this can change with a little patience and work. I am going to try and work with her, I do believe this could be changed with some behavioral help from an expert, but if not done I would suggest she is the only dog in the home. She is a young dog anywhere from 6 months to about 12 months, we took her to the vet yesterday and she is clean, got a dewormer but doesn't appear to have any parasites, she also got her rabies and first distemper shot, & will need another one in 3 weeks but will be up to date on shots after that. It is also possible that she might be spayed the vet wasnt sure she will have to be watched to see if she goes into heat or not. Although she seems more uncertain around animals and dogs she is excellent otherwise and is the biggest lovebug and snuggling lap dog you can find. Not food aggressive. She is the sweetest dog you can find. I can pretty much meet anyone interested in meeting/adopting her in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa and find a place to meet up. I would be keeping her myself but I really can't and have grown very attached to her so want the best home possible. I would also be willing to do a trial home for her. Daisy has been in our rescue group for almost 2 years now. Yes she is a pit but she is a sweetie. She cannot go with cats. She is ok around other dogs as long as they are now crazy and jumping on her. She is about 4 or 5 years old and is very strong! She would be great for weight pulling! I thought I would give this forum a shot and see if anyone is looking to give a pit a new forever home!

Animals in Need of Rescue : Milwaukee, WI area pit bull in need of rescue - Urgent!

I work at a shelter in milwaukee, wisconsin that has a 1 1/2 year old male pit bull mix that is in urgent need of a breed rescue. He has a hard time getting along with other dogs (tried two homes already) because he doesn't have good dog socialization skills. He's not agressive, just needs help learning his dog/dog interaction skills. He was attacked at his previous home before he came into the shelter, so that may have contributed to it. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and has his distemper vaccination. He's a wonderful guy with a big smile. His name is "Sir." I will be disappointed, but not surprised if the Obama family does not adopt a rescue dog. Senator Kennedy has Portugese Water Dogs and Senator Biden has a Labradoodle. Obama knows he should adopt a dog from a rescue or a shelter, but we shall see......
