The love of animals started long before the founding of Oak Ridge Candle Company.  For several years, we volunteered across numerous states in an effort to improve the lives of homeless and abused animals.  Many times confronted with heart breaking stories, we knew in time our entrepreneurial spirit would cross paths with our desire to assist in finding loving homes for all animals in need.

As the founders of Oak Ridge, we share a special bond with Best Friends Animal Society.  We had turned to Best Friends for the adoption of one of their tremendous residents of Dogtown.  He was a perfect match for our female Staffordshire Terrier.  It was love at first site for us and her.  From day one, they have been known to share toys, use each other as pillows for nap time, drink from the water bowl at the same time, nurture one another, watch the neighborhood wild rabbit, Philip, through the same windowpane and even enjoy an afternoon Lifetime movie on television.

Many thanks to Best Friends for providing a wonderful change to our household.  Long before our adoption, we connected with Best Friends as a result of their highly visible mission of “No More Homeless Pets”. Several visits to their sprawling 33,000 acres in Kanab, Utah and it was clear to us that we wanted to offer something special to an organization that improves the lives of so many loving animals.
